Name that connector Part 3.....

So some of you will remember this thread from a while ago.... http://www.edugeek.net/forums/hardware/54322-name-connector.html and the name that connector.

 

Ever since then it has been known as "Steve" throughout EduGeek and even with suppliers I'm sure ICT Direct even know them as Steve's

 

However, let me introduce to you Steve's European cousin....

"Shuko" the European mains plug and a C5 (BS 60320) socket.

 

So, in the light of that, maybe "Clive" would be a good name.

Or are you reffering to the actual mains plug which is a 2 pin European plug ?

I know exactly what the lead is we have seen plenty of them just it follows on nicely from Steves.

We have mickey mouse connectors on our Lenovo Power Supply Bricks ( whatever you want to call them ) which is how I know as had to google / ebay to get some quite a while back

I wonder if they charge using a Steve-Clive cable?

When I was doing my apprenticeship in the RAF, we had mainly officers doing theory stuff. Then we went onto practical work, which was taught mainly by NCOs. I still remember aerials. The corporal showed us a UHF basestation aerial and said this is a biconical monopole with a counterpoise skirt better known as a f***ed pig. Strange the things you remember.

So can someone great tell me what the chuff this connector is called?

It's for my Philips surround sound and this end plugs into a speaker. I need another end and the only place I can find is Philips and I'd have to buy the whole cable at £15!

they are fun but im not sure id want to own one or use it on a road besides haven't all the motors from them been used in robot wars lol
