It's called a "Why have they put this in the box too" lead.

Rob

Nooo I actually want them in the box sometime as our 3 pin plug doesn't fit sockets very well in some locations like Europe :( So then users are how do I charge my new Lenovo Laptop with this funky plug :D

Sorry to hijack the thread, but as the title suggests, I thought it may be appropriate...

So can someone great tell me what the chuff this connector is called?

It's for my Philips surround sound and this end plugs into a speaker. I need another end and the only place I can find is Philips and I'd have to buy the whole cable at £15!

It looks like a mini molex

So how about: Adrian?

We'd need to see what's on the other end I'm afraid. There are several species of UHF connector.

My question was prompted by an item on the "RAF Trade Group 11 memory corner" where the "West Raynham Control Tower" group posted this query:

An appeal for help with a little project.

Our UHF biconical monopole antenna now has a practical use!

Can any radio enthusiasts of ex RAF signals experts tell us what the coax connector required for this is called?

Apologies for the missing bar on the LCD of the Vernier caliper!

The thread is 37.6 mm in diameter!

Holy thread necro Batman!

But how strange it appears to be the exact same thing mentioned here (earlier post in this thread):

When I was doing my apprenticeship in the RAF, we had mainly officers doing theory stuff. Then we went onto practical work, which was taught mainly by NCOs. I still remember aerials. The corporal showed us a UHF basestation aerial and said this is a biconical monopole with a counterpoise skirt

Don't think @laserblazer has been active for quite some time though... so hopefully someone else knows how this this ancient monolith connects.
