Hi Guys!

I've had a few Android phones now, Original Galaxy, S2 and currently got the Galaxy Nexus.

The Nexus has a broken screen and it's gonna cost a lot to have it fixed. So I thought I'd just have a new phone. As I've had a few Android devices I thought I'd go iOS.

But what are your thoughts on the 5, who's got one, experiences with it? Do I get the 5 or wait to see what comes from August/September in regards to iOS 7 + the rumored 5S?

HELP ME!

Another +1 for you to stay on android. With android devices, you can do what you want with them in terms of software, customisation etc. With Apple, it subtly tells you what you can and cant do.

iphones no longer have the best screens or the best OS. They seem to have been treading water for a couple of years.

S4 with its 1080p screen and gesture features (dont even touch the screen) is fantastic

How much does the S4 go for atm? I want to just buy the phone outright as I'm still contract with the Nexus so I'm just going to put the SIM card in the new one. The iPhone 5 is around £500 is the S4 more? A lot more??

Always had iPhones, swapped to an S3 and would never consider swapping back, unless Apple pulled something very special out the bag!

Nexus 4 by google. Aprox £279 direct from google play store and then just go on a sim only or pay as you go plan ?? Not tied into a contract then ?

See what ios 7 is like as ive got an iphone 5. Want to save money ref my next phone so will see

To be fair if I was going to buy a phone I would go for Nexus 4. On a specs/costs basis I don't think you can argue with it.

I am still tied into a contract, hence why I need to buy just the phone, i can't sign into another contract. I'll just put my current contract SIM into the new one.

I've an Xperia running Android ICS 4.0.4 and it's been pretty much rock solid.

I believe the latest iPhone 5S has an RRP of £699.99. Absolute bargain! lol

Which Xperia? I have Xperia U and not overly happy with Sony's ICS update. Managed to disable a lot of crud but still gets low on memory and slow down. Have to run Clean Master to keep freeing up memory.

Thinking of putting on Cyanogen when I get some time.

I'm honestly not sure what to do. I've always had android and know the drill so to speak. High res screens, that you have to have on a low brightness just so your battery doesn't die, okay I'll admit the customization and freedom to do what you want with an Android is good. But I don't take advantage of that anyway. The only thing I've done with mine is messed around with Nova Launcher. Haha it doesn't really bother me. I think it's between the Nexus 4, S4 and iPhone 5 atm.

Exactly that an Xperia U. When I had similar problems you can backup your contacts and messages etc... via Sony's software, then re-install the phone as new, then restore your data. Cured all my problems.

I believe it's to do with upgrading Gingerbread to Ice Cream Sandwich which leaves some Gingerbread components behind (don't ask me why). Re-installing as new via Sony's software resolved WiFi freezing and generally my phone feels quicker.

Although both the latest iPhone and Samsung's are nice phones, with retail prices of £600-£700 it's just ridiculous. Even on a contract you're looking £40-£50 minimum probably for 3+ years.

You could buy two Playstation 4's for the same price is all I will say :)

I'd also go +1 for staying on Android.

My S4 is so good that the wife had just got one too! Group play rocks!!!

Do they have groove on droid. Also what apps do others inc yourself have or use??

HTC ONE, moved up from the ONE X. I was with Apple with the iPhone 4 for 2 years but when I switched to Android, my life became so so so so soooo much more easier. Customization levels are out of this world! Everything is so easy to do. No fiddly DRM to manage. As simple as copy-paste. So much more integration with EVERYTHING and Apple doesn't even come CLOSE. I missed out for those years I had an iPhone.

Then again, if you're just a zombie user who doesn't buy/install apps and just takes pictures and makes call, can't get your head around tech and want the simple basics in life, go for the iPhone 4s. Not the 5. Not a big difference. And you'll get iOS 7 on the 4s (I think??)

Android FTW! Have you considered the One?

I don't know what to do, but I do want a new phone, and fancy a iOS device as thats the only one I haven't had any experience with. Not really bothered about customizing it really. For the £50 difference between the 4S and the 5 I'll have the 5.

+1 for staying on Android. I've had both but went from iPhone to Android and trust me, it's a lot better that way! When you take into account variety, versatility, cost, customising, modding into account, there really is only one choice.

Going from Android to iPhone will really be like a step down.

Have you purchased my apps on Android? All of them will be a thing of the past if you go iPhone!
