featured_spectre Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 when you upgrade the engine, it will be better. I promise!
featured_spectre Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 fuel consumption, different torque ratios, which can ultimately be a good thing.
StevieM Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Had a quick look at this thread, as my nephew is really into transport type games. He even has this Street Cleaning Simulator. As for me, I remember playing my first truck simulation 'Juggernaut' on an Amstrad CPC464. Ah, those were the days... NSFW Unless you turn the sound off as there are a few choice words.
featured_spectre Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 One thing to remember, the bigger the engine, the faster the fuel consumption.
newpersn Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I brought the volvo last night. FH16. with the 600bhp engine and the "R" gearbox. Cost less than 100k. Seems to be good in fuel so far. It recons it will get 1600miles from its tanks.
MrKJLS Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I spent about 60 hours on Euro Truck Simulator 2. I need to start looking at mods, does anyone know of any good ones? I have promod. Kieran Sent from my iPhone using EduGeek
d0pefish Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 last night for me was a write off. tried to do a quick job to get a lot of cash. one job, 600 miles, £34k. 140 miles from the end a car overtakes an oncoming truck and smacks in to me, in trying to avoid it i hit the barriers, end up with 26% damage. have to use emergency assistance. get taken 400 miles back, £11k repairs, and just to top it off, i'm now late on the delivery. I'll be lucky to just get a warm smile at the end of this delivery! didn't think it was possible to want to ragequit from a truck driving simulator!!!
CAM Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I'm getting closer, about £20k left to buying a truck at last. Getting the hang of the sim as I am driving like a complete and blaming the AI for half my accidents.

newpersn Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 (edited) i pulled out from my garage when i got my Volvo and speeding car comes down and crashes in to me..... 1% damage. Also lost control going down a slip road... luckly no damage but had to swing my truck around very tightly... Edited January 23, 2014 by newpersn

L3OUGH Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Got my PC yesterday and fired up the demo, as I'm going to play the demo intensely before I buy the full edition. Haven't got round to doing a whole run yet though! Did about half a run then quit while other things installed. But so far, so good. Need more games though now!
LosOjos Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 (edited) Need more games though now! These sites will help you with that: Humble Bundle (they have the weekly bundle and a main bundle which usually has more well known games and updates about once per month, although at the moment it's audio books) Indie Game Bundles and PC Game Bundles - Bundle Stars (worth checking weekly, the bundles usually contain at least one very good game worth the price of the bundle on it's own) Both also have stores worth checking if you're after a particular game as they're quite often considerably cheaper than Steam. If you have a Paypal account I recommend using that to pay on Humble Bundle, seem to work out the best for exchange rates from USD to GBP (bank will charge an admin fee as does Google which often makes the bundle cost you more, Paypal's fees [surprisingly] are usually lower) Edited January 23, 2014 by LosOjos
L3OUGH Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I got gifted ARMA 2: Complete Edition, so that'll keep me busy! DayZ mod. Then buy standalone too! but Steam sales and such are going to make sure I have no money now, I can tell.

It's barely alpha and could well put you off wanting to play it again. But that's for another thread
featured_spectre Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Thats for Arma 3....and anyway, ETS2 has some great mods (going back) there is a real companies mod which changes trailers to DHL or fedex etc, and companies to aldi, lidl, royal mail etc

featured_spectre Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Dayz has an Arma3 alpha which @Dopefish was on about.
d0pefish Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Dayz has an Arma3 alpha which @Dopefish was on about. no i meant the standalone version released. it's not really using the arma3 engine (more an arma2.5 engine).
