So yep, handed my notice in today. For those that know (or had to endure listening to me talk about it at EDIT) I was ready for getting out, and have finally found somewhere. I'll be leaving education and following in the footsteps of webman (minus the awful puns and inability to grow a full luscious beard obviously) and joining a web design company. Been in education coming up to 14 years now so I was in need of a change. Hopefully I'll still get to kick around on here, as I know you'd all miss my acerbic wit otherwise. And yeah, this is so much more of a bigger announcement than Little Miss getting a new job, I mean I'm not even a mod here, I'm just a regular schmoe!!

If you're on about Doom, do you mean multi-level as in not just one floor, you could take a lift up/down etc? If so, they sort of played around with that as all maps were still top down 2D maps, you couldn't have a room on top of a room as the levels were still designed in 2D. Was extra challenging creating levels for that! Also the sprites still faced you when they died (the amount of times I'd stare at an Imp's a%$e, but that's besides the point!) no matter where you turned.

While I can understand the frustrations in there, there's also some flawed logic: No, you know more than me about teaching, or being a teacher, in general. If you have believe the internet to be run by unicorns then I agree that I know more about CompSci than you, but if you then teach kids that the internet is run by unicorns, you are not showing you know more about teaching CompSci, just that you know how to convey your knowledge on a subject to another party, but what if that knowledge is wrong? Again, not saying I disagree with what is being said in that blog, and yes, there are definitely some elitist IT people but I can only imagine the backlash a tech based blog saying "i know more about computer science than you" would bring **edit** yes, we all know the internet is run by a dachshund in Toronto, unicorns were just an example!
