hawc Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Got to spend the next 2 hours being throttled, Am seriously thinking of ditching them and going to sky.
computer_expert Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 some nice driving I can't agree with the bit I saw (slowly rolling down a hill backwards whilst trying to restart the truck! )
hawc Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I can't agree with the bit I saw (slowly rolling down a hill backwards whilst trying to restart the truck! ) That did happen. I do not drive in real life, so I can not do hill starts and in a truck it is really hard.
Nugget Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 How much would you you recommend this game guys? Many thanks Nugget

I'm sure you'll get better at them, but you did do well to avoid jackknifing and hitting the traffic behind too. Seeing that stream has convinced me to download the demo and give it a try - I will see how I get on using a laptop keyboard (probably not very well )
CAM Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 (edited) Sorry, will adjust things fro next time. My Internet has just started disconnecting. I think I am now being throttled by VM. I will try again later. I will try and concentrate on the road, however I have to read chat. It counts for upload? Yikes! Also this happened today... Edited February 1, 2014 by CAM
hawc Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Yep, I am still throttled and I can only stream for a hour at a time, then I get throttled. I am on 60 meg download with VM and 3 meg up. I can upload 900 mb in an hour before they throttle me. Does anyone know if the impending speed boosts mean that my upload will increase? I hear that a new contract will have to be signed, is that true? I know that my 60 meg will go up to 100 meg. I would rather they spent the money on upload. Does anyone know of a fiber ISP who have faster upload?
featured_spectre Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 How much would you you recommend this game guys? Many thanks Nugget Very much so. Considering I am medically banned from driving, it is about as close as I can get (racing games excluded). If you can get a deal on this AND the expansion, go for it!

CAM Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 I drove into it at the traffic lights because it wouldn't move. Somehow it wound up on the back even whilst I attached a new trailer. Eventually it was deposited on top of the armcoe barriers in Glasgow.
hawc Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 (edited) Just so that you are aware, I am going to stream again, however it may only be an hour at a time. That is the maximum Virgin will let me before they throttle me. EDIT: I will be able to stream for more than an hour, however only at 720p. Edited February 2, 2014 by hawc
featured_spectre Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 ok, few things here. Music, keep it off. It is eating into your bandwidth something fierce and causing drop outs. A few of us via steamchat noticed this (we each dropped at the same time). Voice, we cant hear it over the music. It might be low your end, but ours its high, and also when we can hear you, it sounds like it is a teenager who's voice is going through a speech compressor making it very high pitch for a voice Stream quality, it is exceptionally choppy (I watch a few others stream live without issue). If you are using wireless, switch to a wired connection, if you are wired, look at your router or your bandwidth and speak to the provider. Looking at your sig, I recommend you speak to virgin, as your upload is nowhere near enough for a decent stream. Sorry to be blunt but it is how I am
hawc Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Sorry about that, I do understand and I am getting a better mic so I will not sound like a teenager. I know about the upload and it has been fine recently.
Jonah Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 It's not quite right how addictive this game actually is. Was using the keyboard controls, but then dug out a really old Logitech dual action controller and it is perfect for it.
CAM Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 You could try playing locally stored music, that wouldn't eat bandwidth and go out with the stream.
d0pefish Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Note to self : 80mph and sharp corners do not mix, as I found out as my cab went sideways for a few hundred metres, then righted itself and rear ended another truck. I don't think anyone will be buying the cars I was transporting.....at 40% damage so far!

featured_spectre Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I managed to beat the expected time of a delivery yesterday. Delivery from Birmingham to Debrecen. Shaved off 3.5 hours from the delivery estimated time (did 110mph right the way down the motorways and some dodgy driving). For beating the expected time, for every hour I got an additional £500

d0pefish Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I've regularly shaved time off to the point I'd have needed rest before the end and now don't (usually by an hour or so). And it was quite fun actually....sliding sideways in the cab, then magically righting yourself. I don't think the truck I ran in to was too impressed, but who cares
d0pefish Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Got 3 speeding tickets. lol My thought has always been 3 tickets at £440 each compared to a £60k payout....
featured_spectre Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 try 3 speeding tickets at £60 a piece
