I was predominately hauling in England as I didn't like the continent. since I kept getting speeding fines. I actually think being a driver is a handicap in this game because the simulated rules of the road are vastly different to the real rules! There's a few loopholes though...

- Always turn your lights on to avoid fines (not just sidelights). I do this IRL anyway.

- Police don't care about main beam, other drivers just flash their lights at you.

- Nobody cares about indicators and ignores them.

- You can skip red lights without a fine by driving on the wrong side of the road through them.

- You can also drive on the wrong side of the road for a brief while before you get fined.

- Screw reverse parking with the trailer, press space.

nah reverse parking brings in anywhere from 45xp - 800xp depending on your level, type of trailer etc

Also, if you are quick at parking, brings in more XP as well...it depends on if you just want to drive or get full experience of it. lol

Is this for Euro Truck or in the BMW drivers handbook?

Probably the Audi handbook. But eh, I like to stick to the road rules :)

I'm that anal about driving correctly in this that when the air-brakes failed last night, I put my hazards on. Shame the AI sat behind me for an hour patiently waiting for me to move :p

Once I'm on open road though, driving correctly goes. I overtake and undertake where possible, usually shave about an hour off the ETA time

Indeed. The game is fun because of its modability :D

to me it's not even that. it's sort of like how sandbox games just let you do things at your own pace. you can load GTA and just wander the streets if you wanted. thats how this is to me.

i don't have to worry about tactics or stuff like that, i can just load the game, drive for 20 mins, quit the game and that's it.....it's quite relaxing in that sense (obviously not as much when you tip the trailer, but swings and badly cornered roundabouts)

What roundabouts? I tend to speed and cut them. if i drive normally the rear of trailer cuts the railings up.

Found out that after hiring truckers and getting trucks... you have to leave them and eventually they work automatically.

Lord oh lordy... they earn a pittance. So not worth the 500k loan....

Just speed onto the pavex area of a roundabout.... yer will be fine..... as long as you dont turn

As they skill up, they earn enough. I have 4 drivers, with 2 points in long distance, 1 in fragile, 1 in high value and they are earning me roughly £20k each, per trip, so bringing in around £80k a day, more than paying for themselves. Might even trick out their trucks!

I couldn't be bothered. Playing quick missions means I can just press space and start the next runn instead of faffing around for half an hour trying to get the trailer to go in the direction I want no matter what I do.

I caved last night. Already had an 80k loan for my truck (paid off just under half). Took out a bigger loan, upgraded my garage in Sheffield to accommodate 3 people, hired 2 more drivers and bought 2 more trucks. Both of them are only bringing in about £2k per job but as long as I keep up the bigger jobs my loan is covered until they start getting better jobs themselves.

So Goat Friskers (a subsidiary of Sweet Truck Haul) is now on the map. I'm looking to get a garage in Duisburg next as that seems to be the hub I've stopped at most, so for my jobs it'd make sense getting something there.

I have 9 garages now, Aberdeen, Cambridge, Cardiff, Calais, Rotterdam, Duisberg, Salzberg, Milano, and Bratislava. Will add one in Zurich, Luxembourg, Praha, Gdansk and Budapest. Then will add to the smaller countries and hopefully end up with 1 in every city :)

*edit*

I am level 28 now, cranking out £130-180k a job, my drivers are around level 10 bringing in £20-30k a job. I buy a garage or upgrade one after each trip now :)

My vast EMPIYAH will cross every city in "Yurp" and I estimate that I will hit £600m in 1 year (in game time) if I stay as I am and dont spend, if I keep getting garages and expanding, then it will be longer, but I intend to be hitting around £1billion a year if not more by the time I have atleast 2 garages in every country (luxembourg excluded)
