It's all true - I was making brekkie this AM with DD (3) running back and forth round the house in circuits, stopping every time she passed me to give me a kiss/cuddle. Never gets old..or the "I loves you very much" as they fall asleep, which makes me have to have a quiet moment of reflection on what on earth I've done right, and how I managed it. And I was woken up by DS (8 mo) crawling into the bedroom I share with DD at 6.50am, looking at me and shouting "DADADA-DY!", big grin, and then tootling off again..heh. Yes, sleep and lie-ins goodbye to a degree (although DD does 6.30-7am)..but it's not forever, and you'll be amazed at how much more time you have in the day when you're up at 5am and think "It's not worth going back to bed".. Best thing I've done with my life. Wouldn't miss a second. Lots of pictues, lots of videos - they advance so fast! 1

You might think it's easy, and that you'll never stop, but soon you'll think well, not much has changed has it? we already have twelfty-dozen photos of new 'un in that outfit grinning on the floor, one more won't make a difference. YOU WILL BE WRONG. They change constantly and incessantly and you just don't notice until friends bring round a new newborn and you realise how much you've failed to record for posterity. This may or may not have happened to me with my 6 month old recently. 1

fiza Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 If I had my time again I would take a picture everyday of my kids. It may seem a stupid thing to do but having seen youtube clips of the photos others have taken of their kids I wish I had. 1

We bought the kind of album that could be expanded by adding extra pages from WHSmith. This was started in pre-digital camera days, but we try to keep it up to date though there are fewer pictures taken these days let alone printed. It's amazing to see them grow up... and, of course, it remains as an ever present threat that it can be shown to friends/partners should they set a foot out of line!

To be honest @john, I'd probably never do it (but don't tell them that ) After only a few months of dating, Mr gee40's Mum pulled out the albums of childhood pictures. My toes still curl now thinking about it!
witch Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 I used to have a set of pictures on the landing wall so as you came up the stairs you were faced with a row of pictures of my children at 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 18 months and 2 years - aligned so that you could compare them at the various ages to see when they looked alike (I'm always fascinated to see how they slip in and out of sibling resemblance as they grow up). They HATED it Now I just have the three at 3 months up. I always intended to put a set of three at first school, middle school, year 9 and sixth form but a couple have gone missing...
