Hello guys, We are currently using Bromcom's Win-folder for e-reg, we are having problems with our PE department as they need to be able to take reg on the field. WiFi coverage is sorted but its not a good idear to take a 17" laptop in the middle of a muddy field. so we got some of bromcom's useless xpda's but i have had enough of them not working properly. as all of our PE staff have Iphones I thought we could use that, is there "an app for that" or a secret web interface Thanks, Pete,

Hi all How do people cope with apps via iTunes for iPods/Pads. I am wondering how we set up an account to be able to download apps, but stop it from being abused. Do I use the same account on each device? Without a credit card, is it best to purchase department Gift Cards? Do I set up a seperate account for each department wishing to use these devices? Any advice greatly appreciated!

I was hoping someone could tell me if they know of an app like worldlens that can turn English into Mandarin (Chinese Simplified) and any other apps for a non-English pupil. I have a 5th gen ipod touch at my disposal and a £25 iTunes card.

Hi, I'm looking to buy a IPod music stand for a x-mas present, does anyone know a cheap site to buy one from? Thanks.

Following on from another thread with an idea, I'm now planning to see if I can repurpose my unused iPod for something else when I get home. My current thought it stripping out its guts and turning it into a cigarette case or business card holder, maybe even a wallet, but any other suggestions are welcome. Has anyone else tried something like this before, and possibly have some advice for me? Is anyone else thinking of repurposing gadgets for much more low-tech roles?

Not sure if this has been picked up in other forums but... Apple are/have got rid of DRM music - but have also changed the pricing structure. SOme info here: Apple strips iTunes of digital rights management - Times Online Apple - iTunes - What's New - Download DRM-free music GJE

Hi all I am in the process of setting up iPod Touch/iPad devices for staff and students but in a jam as to how to get them setup. Naming to share files, acccess resources on the RM CC3 shares and printers. I have come across Studywiz Mobile, but I havent had any replies from them. So has anyone gone this route before?

Hi Gang, I have a IAS config question. I have setup radius auth for wifi clients running over ruckus gear and it works all well. The config i followed was the "ashbys IAS" doc thats floating around here. Ill admit Radius-auth isnt my strngest suit so please bear with me. What i have is a WLAN that requires radius auth -- this required me to create a server certificate (from local CA) which clients then installed automatically. Clients then had to change EAP type to PEAP, select the CA cert to validate and hey-ho connection. On the radius server i setup the RAP to enable "domain computers" OR "domain users". Fantastic. Now i have students joining this WLAN with their Ipods/iphones/Mac's in general because when they authenticate against the WLAN it shows up "certificate not trusted" which they can accept and again hey-ho. Connection. Obviously i have setup the wifi auth incorrectly, or expecting the wrong result. What id like to do is to restrict access to this WLAN to computers and any user logged into that computer that are part of the domain. Opposed to "domain users" as it is now apparent to me this will include any device that passes correct AD credentals. Can any one shed some light or point to a more relevant auth scheme? Thanks in advance

Hi guys, As the title says was wondering if any ict technicians or network managers use iPod touch's or iPad's as a technical tool to help solve issues. Came across an interesting thread about using an iPod touch on a mitel phone system for VoIP calling. It got me thinking what other uses do people use them for? What apps? What you have set up to work on them? They strike me as a great mobile device for remoting onto a server quickly or changing a password, logging a call in spiceworks etc. What do you guys use them for? Thanks

OK folks, from a confirmed Apple-grump... my future mother-in-Law is after an iPod dock. It must be quite small and light as I have to lug it over to her in Kenya. She has the latest gen "iPod classic". What do you reckon folks? Edit: should have decent-ish speakers, and be mains powered, budget up to 100 notes

I have an ipod which contains all of my music. recently my computer hard drive was completely destroyed and i had to reinstall windows. I couldn't get into the computer far enough to backup any work, so i have lost my music on my computer hard drive. Is there any way that i can't connect my ipod to my computer and get it to copy the music to my computer. HELP!
