Only appears to affect OS X, so I'm posting this here instead of a more generic forum. Take heed, those updating QT on a Mac!

Afternoon all, Just wondering if anyone else has come across this problem or its just me? Upon testing a new install i noticed the C: Drive on a fresh machine was maxed out, a bit of digging and it appears OneDrive was syncing my entire directory to the device, or at least windows thinks it is! (despite files on demand being turned on). This has happened on a few machines with the 2024-07 Cumulative Update installed so i thought i'd cross check a device that didn't have the update. The device that didn't yet have the update worked fine and the C: drive was normal, i noted the Onedrive client version as 24.151.0728.0003 and proceeded to install the update. After it had completed i noticed the C: was now full like the other devices, I checked the OneDrive version again and it had changed to 24.146.0721.0003 which leads me to believe there's a bug in that version and the July update is installing it. I've created a quick fix script to remove the affected version and reinstall using Winget, this puts it back to 24.151.0728 and the storage issue is no more. https://liam-robinson.co.uk/july-2024-onedrive-client-disk-space-bug-workaround-fix/ I can't find anything online so I'm thinking it might just be me that's affected, has anyone else come across this? Liam

Hey all, All of the teachers at my school are reporting an issue with multiple selection of students. An example - the teacher wants to apply a merit to the whole class. In the past he would shift and select all of them by dragging down. Then right click on the last record and select "add award". A box would pop up listing all the names selected to receive the award and the teacher would click OK. Now what happens is the same as above all the way until the "OK" box appears but it only lists the last record selected. Each individual student has to be done one at a time. From what I have been told by the staff who have reported this is that this has been happening since the last update (which we applied during lockdown in May/June). Unfortunately I do not have access to SIMS to test it. I have reported it to 3BM who tell me they are unaware of anything like this but "we will check with Capita to see if they have any reports". If this is affecting all our teachers on any computer they logon to can it be anything other than a bug?

Morning all, One of my colleagues are facing a strange Microsoft Office bug. When she attempts to remove a pinned document from the jump list on her Microsoft Office 2013 installation, it wont allow her to, the unpin icon doesn't do anything. It's a strange bug. I have never experienced this before so Google was my first choice of finding a solution, unfortunately a range of people have had this issue with previous versions of Microsoft Office, but not many people have experienced this issue with 2013. This particular colleague has vast amounts of templates, macros and such so re-installing office is a last resort and if it can be avoided it would be appreciated. Any help would be amazing Thanks Ryan

Did anyone using Google Apps get this yesterday/early morning today? Dear Google Apps Administrator, Important: We discovered an issue that resulted in some of your Google Apps users’ messages being incorrectly placed in their Trash, Spam, or other folders. The issue affected users’ actions only in Gmail for iOS, Gmail in a mobile browser, and Gmail Offline. The issue is now fixed. However, users must take action to re-file these messages in Gmail by February 14, 2014. What happened Between January 15 and January 21, 2014, an issue in Gmail caused some actions, such as deleting, reporting spam, starring, archiving, or moving to a folder, to be incorrectly applied to a different message than the message the user was viewing. As a result, some messages may be unintentionally located in your users’ Trash or Spam, or other folders. Recommended actions At the end of this message, you will find the list of your users whose messages may have been misfiled in their Trash or Spam folders. We recommend that you advise these users to check their Trash and Spam folders for any items that they did not intend to delete or mark as spam. Users can restore any misfiled messages by moving them back to their inbox. These messages should be moved from the Trash and Spam folders by February 14, 2014 (messages are permanently deleted 30 days after they’re placed in the Trash). Also, users may find messages in their inbox that they originally intended for Trash, Spam, or other folders, and will need to move these messages. About the issue The cause of the issue was a bug in a software update to Gmail on January 15. Once the issue was reported to the Gmail engineering team, they identified the root cause and issued a fix on January 21, and identified the users whose messages may have been incorrectly placed in Trash or Spam folders. The Gmail engineering team performed an internal review and is implementing a series of measures to address the source of the issue, improve early detection of these types of problems, and help prevent recurrence. We sincerely apologize for the disruption to your organization. Google is committed to continually and quickly improving our technology and operations to ensure secure access and avoid service disruptions. If you have additional questions or need assistance, please contact us through Google Support. Sincerely, The Google Apps Team

The reboot function seems to shutdown computers. Guess who has to turn them all on again in the morning.

I've only seen a couple so far, but I ran across another one in an old thread today while doing a search and thought I should mention it. EduGeek.net Forums - View Single Post - Anyone got Dell Poweredge servers? It might point to a more fundamental problem with the import process perhaps?
