A teacher claims now that 2 of his emails have arrived to their recipients but without the attachments. in the message trace and I can see it was looked at by my gdpr DLP policy and the trace states a case number. When I look at my DLP dashboard there are 0 incidents. Does this mean it was just looked (by dlp) at and has nothing to do with the missing attachments? No alert has arrived to the sender and no recorded DLP alerts on the dashboard. ideas?

Anyone experiencing problems with attaching files to e-mail in OWA on a rangered PC? It would appear that anything up to about 125kB is fine but anything over that just sees the "Attachements - Web Page dialog" screen hang. I did try using the S/MIME Control and this seemed to make things better but OWA crashed when the e-mail was sent. I have removed Ranger and the attachments are fine. PCs are RM Ecoquiets; XP SP3, OS pretty well up to date. Paul Vernon Bracknell Forest

Morning all, We seem to be having an intermittent (aren’t those always the best) issue that effects downloading attachments from WebMail sites, we have tested it with Yahoo and the Rm Easymail sites and get similar results. It doesn’t affect all of our users, but seems to be restricted to Staff accounts. When a user logs into their webmail, clicks on an email and then tries to download an attachment they get the choice to either save or open. I would say 2 or 3 times out of 10 it will work, and the file will download fine, the rest of the time the download box will just display this; http://www.beaufortcs.com/images/webmail.jpg If you have selected Save, it doesn’t ask you where you want to save. It’s as if its waiting for a program or something to tell it what to do. It seems to effect any file type, we have experienced it with .doc, .docx, .pdf, .xls, .xlsx and .pub. It seems to take a second or two to kick in aswel, if you go and download a file as soon as your logged in it might work, but if you leave it a while it won’t. It seems to be effecting laptop users who are off the domain, and domain computers. It might hace something to do with our staff username format (e.g. b.wykeham.33161). We have had issues before with Adobe Premiere Elements not liking the .33161 on the end. I can’t imagine why this causes an issue, but we managed to get around it. Has anyone experienced anything like this before? I apologise if this seems very vague, but I am not sure how else to describe such an intermittent problem!!!

One of our users came to me complaining that occasionally when she saved attachments from email in Outlook 2007, when she went back to access the saved files later they would appear as "blank" icons and wouldn't open. This has only ever been intermittant so tracking it down has been a right pain as the PC usually behaves itself when I look at it, but yesterday I happened to be in her office when it decided to rear it's head again so I got to see it first-hand. The attachments display correctly in Outlook, and open directly from the email when double-clicked as you'd expect - but I noticed that when they are saved it seems Outlook is stripping the file extension from the name. This leads to the usual "Windows cannot detect the file type, do you want to use the web service or specify an application" type message when the user tries to open an unrecognised file type or a file with no extension. Rename the file to add the extension back in and all is peachy again. It works as you'd expect. Comparing her workstation with mine, I noticed that in the "save as" dialogue, Outlook on my workstation correctly reflects the file type when saving, so automatically appends the extension to the name I choose to give the file. On her workstation, Outlook just says save as type "all files" - although the drop-down is there, there are no other entries in the list so you cannot manually select the file type. So when you click save, the file is bunged out to disc with the given name but no file extension - which creates the problems when the user attempts to open it later. Add the file extension in with the name when saving and there is no problem - file is written to disc correctly and it works. This appears to be intermittant behaviour - restart the machine and log the user back on and Outlook will correctly save the file, automatically adding the file extension with no further intervention - but I'd rather not just give her the old IT chestnut: Turn it off and back on again, every time it happens. So, apologies for the long-winded post, but anyone got any ideas? Thanks in advance! Jim

Hello! I'm using access to make a database but I want to know if there is a way of making a form that can be filled in OUTSIDE of Access by children. So for example a HTML form stored locally on the server or even just an Excel file? Word? All help appreciated.
