  2. I am planning to expand our Citrix XenApp Remote Access system and I expect I will need more license's to cover the expected numbers of concurrent users. So that I can plan this I have been trying log how many of the license's are in use at anyone time and to generate some historical report to justify the extra expenditure. I can use the "Citrix License Administration Console" but this only shows usage each time you login a check it by hand. Does anyone know how I can do this ?

  4. Use the MXtoolbox webpage to check to see if your Ssmart host is on a blacklist, If its trying to verify the sender isn't part of that a reverse DNS lookup ? I have had some problem recently with RM who provide our smarthost being on a blacklist
  5. Have you restarted IIS, I know its sounds obvious but I caught me out !
  6. In case its of any help this is the working wpad file that I am using, I have removed the specifics but it should make sense. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ function FindProxyForURL(url, host) { if (shExpMatch( host, "*INTERNAL IP ADDRESS RANGE*" ) || shExpMatch( host, "*INTERNAL IP ADDRESS RANGE*" ) || shExpMatch( host, "*INTERNAL IP ADDRESS RANGE*" ) || shExpMatch( host, "*INTERNAL IP ADDRESS RANGE*" ) || shExpMatch( host, "*INTERNAL IP ADDRESS RANGE*" ) || shExpMatch( host, "*INTERNAL IP ADDRESS RANGE*" ) || shExpMatch( host, "*INTERNAL IP ADDRESS RANGE*" ) || shExpMatch( host, "*INTERNAL IP ADDRESS RANGE*" ) || shExpMatch( host, "https://do not proxy this URL" ) || shExpMatch( host, "https://do not proxy this URL" ) || shExpMatch( host, "https://do not proxy this URL" ) || shExpMatch( host, "127.*" ) || shExpMatch( host, "localhost" ) || shExpMatch( host, "*192.168.3.*" ) || isPlainHostName( host ) || dnsDomainIs( host, ".example.com" )) { return "DIRECT"; } return "PROXY HOSTNAME:PORT; DIRECT"; }
  7. Are you able to ping the the wpad server using the DNS name...When I set things up I needed to create DNS entries for wpad wpad.internal wpad.domainname I needed to make sure that all 3 of these were "pingable" (if thats such a word) before I was able to get wpad to work as expected. Also are you using windows clients or a combination of windows and Apple devices ?
  8. Tested during lessontime Tested once the students left
  9. The issue is sporadic so I will need to let in Run disabled for a few days to see if disabeling the addons fixes the problem The running add ons are in the attached images

  12. Hi, I am having a weird problem when using Outlook Web Access 2010 with IE Version 8.0.6.00118702. sometime when I drag emails from the Inbox to a folder on the left IE just suddenly closes and leaves no errors in the event log. Also sometimes although less frequently when I open a new mail window and start typing the body of the email the new mail window will also just close. This is very frustrating I am hoping someone else has seen this issue ? We are running RM CC3 with XP clients. Thanks
  13. I am torn between MRTG and Cacti for monitoring network traffic per port on my switches. I prefer to use Nagios3 for everything else, when combined with NRPE. so I can monitor internal systems processes on windows servers as well as external services. I get alerts when things are down and warnings in advance of failure for most things. I am also able to monitor printers and get advance warnings of low toner and drum problems so I can ensure that I have parts in stock. Nagios is abit tricky to configure but its easily worth it. I have used the historical record it provides to illustrate to SLT that there is a need to replace hardware. There is also alot of free plugins for nagios. I especially like the "Check_Procurve_loop" plugin so that I can quickly and easily locate network loops when the students decide to swap network cables around... The other bit of software not mentioned so far is "Smokeping" which gives really nice latency graphs between the server and any other device. I use this to monitor the quality of the schools internet connection as well as the performance of the internal LAN.
  14. Just in case anyone else experiences this, It was solved by updating the laptop to IE 8 from IE7. That will serve me right for testing with an old laptop!
  15. Hi Everyone, I am having some difficulty with Ruckus WiFi and wpad.dat being served from one of our DC's any help greatly appreciated. I have 1 SSID created for the staff laptops and its setup so that when a users connects they get directed to a page for authentication, (Ruckus's captive portal setting) The user authenticates against our AD. This works. The user should be redirected to the page they were originally requesting. The problem is that at this stage as some machine gets directed to http://null/ The clients are being provided with proxy info from a wpad.dat file (DNS method) hosted on one of our DC's using IIS. I have tested this with 3 laptops all configured using DHCP with the same AV/Firewall settings. 1 of the 3 machines works the other 2 do not. I have used wireshark to check that each host is requesting the wpad file from the correct location which they are and the Ruckus kit has been updated to the latest version being 9.3. what am I missing ???
  16. Do you know if they will get the "bing" you have mail sound ?
  17. If there any news about Squid support either version 2.7 or 3.?
  18. Hi If members of staff are using OWA will they get alerted in the same way that they normally would if using Outlook for calander events ? Sound alerts etc Thanks
  19. I think you can have as many as you like without ever taking the last 1
  20. I would not like to be running 2003 anymore let alone until 2013 but all the recent budget cuts force me to look into getting as much life as possible out of the kit we currently have
  21. I do not know, I just know that the SIMS technical Road map says its supported until at least Autumn 2012, it does not say that it will be supported or unsupported after that.
  22. Thanks for the offer, its all been put on hold for now but should that change I might pm you with some questions if thats ok.
  23. Where are people getting the info about dropping support for 2003 has this been confirmed ??? After looking at the SIMS technical road map Server 2003 looks to be supported until at least Autumn 2012 and there is no info beyond that so it might be unsupported beyond that, but its speculation. I am currently looking at my SIMS setup and support life cycles and as far as I can see support for my setup is ok until at least Autumn 2012 Server 2003 R2 32Bit Office 2003 Professional Windows XP Pro 32Bit clients SQL Server 2008 Standard In order to be sure of being supported after Autumn 2012 I would like to upgrade over the 2012 Summer break to avoid server interruptions Microsoft look to have extended support available for the software above until 2014 / 2015 ( still looking for the support dates for the SQL 2008 Package)
  24. Hi, I am also looking at cashless catering and I am a Frog user, are you planning on using cards, biometrics or near field coms ?
