  1. If you don't want to change your [current] networking setup then don't. Sometimes, If it ain't Broke, Don't fix it, is really the best advice.
  2. o.0 Every bit of software that works over a network should be able to operate VLANs… and the IPs are dependant on your own network (unless you are setting up a static network for some reason)
  3. Is the building under a body corporate or strata? Just motion them for a padlock that is keyed to match any common doors and them chain it to the gate so its harder to go walk abouts.
  4. Or you could learn about them and set them up properly. Bespoke VOIP? I highly doubt they have a custom made VOIP solution. Do you mean they run a "whitebox" solution (eg: asterisk) not created by the major brands? And just get rid of the thin clients that they paid good money for? Why do you want a new system? o.0 Look at the switch configure before touching them...
  5. That doesn't look like tabular data to me… MMM… wikis… (Although I'm more of a MediaWiki person tbh) HTML/CSS is not hard once you start to play and there are plently of guides that will show you how to whip up a few divs and how to align them.
  6. but... but... mediawiki is ftw...
  7. Does it have to be a laptop? Have you tried one of the other school desktops to see if its the issue first? Second hand Touch screen monitors tend to come up cheap on ebay under "Business > Cash Registers" (At least in Aus)
  8. I currently volunteer with Scouts QLD and we have a online/webbased "lesson planner" tool called EurkeaKit (IIRC) by creatop (That I've never logged into) but you might to look into, get teachers collaborating that way.
  9. Privacy FiltersMobile Interactive Solutions: 3M United Kingdom & Ireland and the bottom of Mobile Interactive SolutionsMobile Interactive Solutions: 3M United Kingdom & Ireland The Aus site seems nicer: 3M Australia: Privacy Filters
  10. I know that 3M used(?) to produce/sell them, But I haven't seen them in years.
  11. Why the mix? Wouldn't it be better for standardization across the student/teacher devices?
  12. My local primary school does: https://samfordss.eq.edu.au/Pages/default.aspx
  13. Does it need to be a text gateway? Perhaps work up a email or twitter based solution?
  14. There is nothing wrong with using a routable domain for your AD domain name, You just need to set your DNS up properly. Personally I use .internal for my private setup, I'm aware the arguments that its not a real TLD and could become one, But my network isn't large enough I care about and its one of the rarer ones that I doubt will ever get approved.
  15. But media coverage can still be bad, if both parties don't know (and if you have confirmed its legal) Just put a automated attendant at the start, with something like "Please be advised that calls may be recorded and monitored for X purposes, Press 1 for Administration, 2 for Student Absenses."
  16. I looked at this (for another reason previously not related to uniforms), I got recommended Vend, and OpenBravo subsequently by @camel. I ultimately went with DHPos which isn't much to look at, but is very easy and quiet the feature set.
  17. In regards to production? design? printing?
  18. Have you engaged the staff to see why the room isn't being used to its full capacity?
  19. Does the account you are giving it have IMAP or POP3 enabled? as you will need to define a account because google won't just let random emails out...
  20. They are fine if you read the instructions.
  21. Any decent Point of Sale system can do this, There is a free PoS system called DHPOS that can handle this.
  22. That Test Tag looks a bit out of date
  23. InfraRecorder and Imgburn.
  24. Why not just get your librarian to manage it all in the one system? Saves a-lot of time and hassle to everything standrized and in one spot. Also Library Management Systems get quiet complex very quickly if you haven't been trained on all the aspects of your solution.
  25. When I used SMP back in highschool, I gave up on it and subsequently used it only to capture the frames from the webcam. If memory serves me correctly I ended up creating my project in either Adobe Premier (iirc) or the Ulead package for videos.
