Few I can think of, Smoothwall Sophos XG Fortinet I think all of these have HA / redundancy, I use Fortinet vm’s in HA currently. -
Backup broadband connection - suggestions?
Jcx500 replied to TheHyperTechie's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
We usually install a 1gb as a primary and then a slower speed eg 500mb or 250mbps as a secondary , try to go with a different provider for secondary and different dns etc -
Sounds like your missing drivers , Add the appropriate ones to that TS and it should work

Have to remove hikvision from network - any alternatives?

If you decide to install new cctv I would recommend avigilon -
We have the following Wired Clients Wireless Clients Guest Network Staff SSID Vlan Servers Vlan VOIP WAN-Interconnects Management , switches / vsphere / ilo Isolated Backup VLAN
-
What I would do is Create a guest vlan on your switch or firewall Create some ACL / firewall policy’s to block access to your main subnets Create a new ssid on the controller. Up to you how you want users to authenticate you can use a psk or captive portal. If you use the capital portly your unifi controller will have to be on for it to work

Smoothwall MAT Alternatives

I can vouch for Fortinets for large users bases(non edu) you might want another content filter on top also -
If I remember correctly you can use something called a mdns reflector. Terminology might be different for merkai tho
-
My DC Jump boxes aren’t domain joined, on isolated vlan with only access to management infrastructure
-
Get Firewalls , have recently started using the DNS filtering which is great also
-
I would get a refurb dell r640 or similar and spec it to your requirements to run these services what are still needed on prem
-
I run it on a server core VM , then connect via web browser Then I add each server into WAC
-
I would go 10gb at the core layer and also access switches having a 10gb uplink to the core , if budget allows I’ve seen some servers with 10gb links but most just have usual gigabit trunks / bonds split over two switches for redundancy
-
I wouldn’t just lift and shift tbf, either move to cloud native solutions such as AAD or move your services to a collocation or a similar solution
-
I have a virtual opnsense router and home with some tp link Omada AP’s runs great haven’t touched the config for months Have a few vlans Mgmt 192.168.10.xx Servers - 10.10.xx.xx VPN - 10.221.1.xx CCTV - 10.129.xx.xx
-
Nah , If your not using lacp on the host I would delete the lacp setup for those Ports on the switch
-
Drop me a message , this is something we can assist with

For smaller sites we use Aruba instant on switches. If budget allows we go for the usual Aruba stuff

Most of the veeam servers I maintain are vms which are heavily locked down / isolated. We use a nas as storage and copy to the dc as well
