  3. The synology rackstations are good , from memory the higher end ones come with dual psu etc. You could also get a standard rackmount server and load truenas or windows on it
  4. Yeah they are good value for money. If you like using switches via cli these don’t have that functionality. You either have local gui mgmt or cloud mgmt
  5. Separate Forest if you have more than one host. Name it like SCH-HVDomain. Also the same with Vcentre , no ties to Production AD. Separate Creds and on mgmt vlan
  6. When I moved a net2 server from win10 to Server 2019 , I had to go a reboot all the controllers manually , seemed to kick in then
  7. You can use things like I am cloud drive mapper: https://www.iamcloud.com/cloud-drive-mapper/ This also looks good , have used there software in the past : https://cloudconnect.burconix.com/
  8. Unless you have a really specific need , I don’t see the need for a SAN in a edu setting . As others have mentioned s2d is a good solution
  9. I know companies have used some super micro boxes with opnsense or pfsense for 2gb + connections

  14. With Leaver mailboxes we convert them to a shared mailbox until they are no longer needed
  15. You can set veeam to email you every morning to see how the backup went , for larger environments you can also use veeamone for reporting / backup monitoring
  16. Using Acronis currently, no complaints. The reporting is decent too
  17. I have used teams calling but not in a edu setting You call from the teams app , it is managed via the teams admin centre. You can assign numbers to users etc. we used wavelinks teamslink on top to allow us engineers to log out of queues / see who’s busy etc. if implemented correct teams calling is really good
  18. Would check the logs on the machine and sccm
  19. We have ours on a management domain what includes our hosts
  20. Spin a new dc up , transfer roles etc. decom old dc leave it on for a few weeks in case of any fallout. Then turn server off
  21. This is the way , we name companies ad.corp.com and then change the pre logon in adsi edit to the company name
  22. You change the log onto Name quite easily in ADSI editor. Although the fqdn will stay the same you can change how usernames are displayed.
  23. I thought FSLogix was meant for VDI / RDS environments, would be interesting to see how it works with physical systems
