  1. How are you connecting RPC or HTTPS? When prompted what is OLK trying to connect to, normally shows you the server name in the dialogue, if you can post a pic, that would be good. Any cached credentials? Also test autodicover and all the URL's OLK would use.
  2. leave both,
  3. yes, if that references the 2003 server.
  4. you can get rid of the smtp reference.
  5. do not delete the orange for now, just the server object.
  6. yes thats what I mean, can you post an image of the smtp path or state it?
  7. No, that seems like the Domain partition not the Configuration partition. How to remove Exchange Server 2003 from your computer - Follow section Remove the Exchange Server 2003 server from Active Directory DO NOT DELETE THE ADMIN GROUP, JUST THE SERVER OBJECT.
  8. As your Exch 2003 server isn't on the network, you have 2 options. 1. Recover the server, which means installing the OS, SP, hotfixes, Exch binaries, SP etc... then remove it the supported way via add/remove programs. 2. Use adsiedit and delete the Exch 2003 server from the configuration partition. The 2nd option isn't offcially supported but it does work. The choice is yours.
  9. why do you need to move? have you got another exch server you can move services over to?
  10. Have you considered going to SP2 UR3? As for the move, I assume it's from one DB to another on the same server? Can you also check to see if security inheritance is checked on the security tab on user account properties in ADUC.
  11. Which procedure did you follow? What's not clear is how much PF data has been replicated to Exch 2010. I assume the event at the top if this thread is a warning only? If yes, can you filter the event log and check for the oldest and newest entry? What do you mean by " had no problems or errors upgrading from 2003 to 2010, only when it came to the removal of the PFs " ? - Are you trying to remove them now of is your concern only the event listed as the top of the page?
  12. All replicated now?
  13. I assume you mean the next version of SBS right? On prem or the cloud are the options.
  14. PF is a waiting game :-( In 2013 should be better, as it uses native mbx replication now,but thats some time away.
  15. If you compare the item count for those folders in both servers, what's the difference? Has it even started?
  16. I think you will need more that 40 mins, also check the item count.
  17. PF replication have a mind of their own , It can take up to 48hrs. I would wait then pull off a publicfolderstatistics report to check replica and item count. Which folders are they anyway?
  18. What SP and UR is Exch on? Souce and target? If not SP2 UR3 I would that you get there 1st
  19. If the 2003 PF DB has been replicated to 2010 then what database do you want to mount on a new server and why? If you are sure that PF DB has been replicated to 2010 from 2003, then why not focus on removing 2003? I assume the 2003 server has been physically disconnected from the LAN due to the crash? How did you attemtp to remove 2003?
  20. No, as long as the data (both system & non-syatem) has been replicated to Mx01 and no DB is associated Green you should be fine. If you want use the shell rather than the EMC then you should specify the server/sg/db as the identity, this will delete on that particular server.
  21. To clarify you want to get rid of the 2003 server right? What does the 2003 server currently perform/hold services/roles? Do you have a PF database of 2003, if yes, have you replicated over to 2010? If you have attemtpted to remove 2003 what has been tried/done? In short replicaqte the PF db across then remove 2003
  22. Do you use PF or is there any requirement for this technical/business? If not then remove PF completly.
  23. Yes you can tighten to that relay server you receive your emails from. There seems to have been a change made somewhere for that config to be changed.
