I believe the last batch were Pro-Signal ones from CPC, HDMI only though.

We've now switched to fibre optic HDMI cables for anything really over 5M. not sure about plenum ratings on these. Failing that we can get hold of HDMI + USB over cat6 converters from CPC. I presume there will be a supplier with these in the US as well. They are usually USB 2.0 as only really designed for keyboard mouse I assume, which I wouldn't have thought would be an issue for interactive panels.

Can't agree more with PotNoodleTech, I have had a couple of UPSs go bang on me (and I mean bang, Smoke burning smell etc) both Dell rebadged APC units probabbly 10 years old at time of destruction. Older units left unplugged for a while also pose a fair risk of going pop when plugged in again for the first time. I try to get our customers to replace every 5 to 6 years if possible, and those with two UPSs to replace a year or so apart so they aren't exactly the same age. Probably doesn't make much difference but might help avoid a bad batch.

Synology generally is our recommendation for 365. Smaller primary customers our cloud option makes more sense for as the monthly costs are low anyway.

hmm, Still have to say how great they are. When we bought our first I suspected it would be a gimmick and end up sending it back. But it does a really great job. Now we have one for upstairs and one downstairs. No need whatsoever to vacuum manually, apart from the stairs!

Usually I would suggest using 'Custom Days' add the days you are wanting to affect, then in the timezone set the public holiday bar to the times you want it open. But if you want to use Triggers and Actions then I believe the following should work: Add New Trigger & Action Select at a Specific time Select the start date, run time, days to run and expiry date Select Control a Door Select hold door open Choose the doors to affect Name the rule something like open doors Now create another rule that runs at the end of each day and select 'Close door' as the action. I would just be aware that triggers and actions are dependant on the server being available, i.e if it fails the doors may end up being left unlocked. Might not be a problem, usually external doors get locked manually anyway.

The same HP combo used to be my preferred until I bought a Logitech MX Master 3 and then followed that up with the MX Keys. I'm tempted by the new MX Mechanical but can't really justify spending any more after the first lot.

I do professional fireworks displays, mostly electronically fired and often choreographed to music. We'll be firing at Fireworks Champions this year at Newby Hall and closing Ragley Hall if anyone is going? Also slowly working my way through my Pilots licence as and when finances allow, great fun but definitely hurts the bank balance each time I go up.

£1000 is a bit steep for a wireless paxlock, With us you would be looking in the region of half that with installation and a Net2 Air Bridge.

On the sites with Backup connections, we have a 1gig leased line to a Smoothwall with a standard BT Business internet connection as a backup. Smoothwall just handles the failover should the leased line go down. Internet access will continue to work for internal devices, Direct access / AOVPN and RDS will cease until the leased line reconnects. Usage of these services is fairly low anyway so I doubt anyone would notice apart from ourselves. I would manually change these if there would be any sort of sustained downtime to get them running again. My backup VPN would still work so we can dial in remotely and I'd get a couple of notifications from Zabbix to let me know that the leased line went down and another once it restores.

Mosyle's definitely, more than enough for most setups I've come across. We've used it to manage trusts with 1000+ devices with no real issue with the free one. The paid for version allows some 'Bulk operations' but I can't say I really miss them, and still think it's the best platform we've come across. None of the bigger setups we had used the paid for version.

Hi Dan, I'd generally start by getting a trust relationship setup between the two domains, with a bit of messing around then users should be able to login to the other site's domain. From there you can look at using ADMT to move the users, have to say it isn't the easiest looking process. I'd probably start by spinning up a couple of new domains and having a play away from the live environment.

I've got a couple of R620s with 128GB in each for when we need to test something strenuous. They are now becoming a bit of a problem because of their age / VMware support, lack of HBAs e.t.c and the noise / power. For day to day testing my PC has 32GB of RAM and an i5 in so runs VMware Workstation when I need to test something out and don't want to fire up the Dells. It ran a 3 node Storage Spaces Cluster the other day with no issues.

Domain joined with AOVPN / Direct Access on some of the sites, Cached Credentials still work should there be an issue with the VPN Connection. Deployed through a mix of SCCM & MDT at different sites. We've done several migrations of file servers to Sharepoint / Onedrive now but have noticed that the sync client is problematic, so are trialling Cloud Connect with a few at the moment, so far it looks promising.

We installed a few Hisense boards not long ago. Have to say value for money wise they were excellent, and had some great feedback from the staff about them. I still prefer BenQ or Viewsonic but at the price we got them at it allowed them to have another one or two boards with the same budget. Only criticism was that the USB port for touch was on the front of the board, however we understand that they may be changing that. A right angle USB mostly alleviated the concern with that as well.

Yep, we've had extensive problems with HDMI in one of our new builds with Promethean Panels. The fibre HDMI cables did work the best in the end. For hall installs we now use projector that support HDBase-T (HDMI over ethernet cabling) and then a HDBase-T Matrix by the PC/ Sources which is far more reliable. It's definitely cost prohibitive to fit in every classroom though.

We've had to resort to 4G for some new builds while waiting for fibre to be run in, this was a couple of years ago granted but it did work ok. Balancing the load between a few 4G routers using Mikrotiks helped to improve the performance as well.

You would probably want a fusion splicer & cleaving tool, although you might be able to hire them. Have you tried contacting Eurocoms? We work with them often for fibre / structured cabling.

Also we tend to get them all added to the controller prior to physical installation, then name them in the controller with their proposed location and attach matching label to the AP. Finding the AP that hasn't adopted or been discovered by the controller without this can take a lot of wandering around. Occasionally you get one that just doesn't want to play ball and needs messing around with through SSH, especially those that have been sat in boxes with older firmware. (should be less of a problem with the U6 Pros)
