BYOD Windows S Mode and Papercut Executable
Sonic007 replied to robintech's topic in How do you do....it?
Windows S mode is the worst thing ever invented! -
This is exavctly our setup at the oment. Two VM's, one being a DC for the network side of things and then one for Sims. I was looking at doing away with the servers so seeing if we could remove the Sims VM and so go hosted instead. I think I will still hold on the my on prem Sims VM as right now it doesnt all sounds too great.

Thankyou. I was able to use a Windows2Go version of Windows 10 to boot from USB. Would Ubuntu let me see the drive and bypass the permissions?
-
I'd tried another program that was similar but will give this one a try. Thankyou.

Thankyou. That is my next thing to try. Just picked up a SSD to USB caddy. The laptop's an annoying one to take to pieces! You think it will be easier to access that way?

Hi everyone, A teacher's laptop won't boot and it has important data I need to get off it. The Hard drive is an M2 SSD. So far I've got a Windows to go USB that lets me boot Windows and then I see the SSD drive listed in My Computer. I can access certain user accounts in c:\users as it lets me take ownership but one of them is not accessible....And that is the one with all the data. Does anyone have any ideas how I can access it? I need to be able to backup the data to a hardive I've hooked up before I reformat and set it up again. Thankyou.

hi, I'm trying to remove all my iPads from Mosyle MDM as starting all over again. I use the free version. Is there a quicker way as right now I'm having to go into each iPad and remove from MDM. Thanks all.

I get your point but when staff have been used to Sims for donkeys years then re-training them to a new MIS can be a challenge.
-
Thankyou, It sounds like it has gone well for you. What is the VM you have running? Do you still need that to run Hosted Sims?
-
Hi everyone, So, I'm looking at getting rid of our Sims Server and going down the Hosted route. Can those who have done this chip in with what they think? Is it worth it? Have you had any problems? Many thanks.

What about making slightly more in the evening and taking that in to work to reheat in the microwave.

Hi all, Does anyone know if there is a way to change the "Un-Send" settings in GSuite Mail so that it can apply to all users. I know they can individually go into their Email accounts and change the unsend time from 5 seconds to 30 seconds. I'd like to apply that to all. Got a few people who need a bit longer reaction time when sending emails. Give them time to react to sending a wrong email. Thankyou.

Can't even find any invoice details for when we purchased it so before I started here.... So possibly atleast 6 years old.

This is what we currently have. It is just booting up, clicking noise, making odd sounds as if it's rebooting, and then clicking noise, and rebooting again.

How exactly does the Ofsted detector work as these days there are thousands of bots that will be crawling over websites.

Thankyou everyone for your replies. I will check out all those links.

Hi everyone, I'm needing a new UPS for our main server. What do you use and recommend? Something that can automatically shutdown VM's and server down properly and reboot once power returns would be welcome. Thankyou.

We left PrimarySite a few years back. They're designs are a little dated now and focussed on children when 90% of our traffic to our sites are parents.

We are all used to Windows and everything is in Powerpoint or Google Slides so for us a screen that hasa PC module in the back is a must.

UPDATE: It seems to be an issue with the MDM profile on the iPads. This is strange as some work completly fine. If I remove the MDM profile it will then allow me to connect it to the Wifi network. Very odd. -

You can't get on the Wifi network to try this. If you mean once I connect to the Guest network, then yes on that network I can browse to NeverSSL. But all SSL sites work anyway. Koldov... It doesnt matter which of my AP the iPad is near, it still won't connect.
