I dove into it and made toucan effort, but ultimately I failed the security chicks.

I won't be troubled, I'm getting my wife to do it, she's a game bird.

Yes I'll just wing it.

Umpired Norfolk vs Suffolk U13 girls on Sunday. Enjoyable game, although Norfolk were rather outclassed. One of the Suffolk girls got a very nice century which I suspect won't be her last. Personal highlight was Norfolk's opening bowler clean bowling someone and breaking middle stump in half ! It's actually much harder umpiring age group games than adult ones. No aggro or chat but they keep you on your toes with all sorts of law violations, three behind square, short runs, two bounce no balls and very inconsistent run ups so someone who was nowhere near no balling one minute can be right on the line the next ball. Not to mention Norfolk somehow managed 14 bowling changes in only 35 overs ! One poor girl bowled six overs in four spells. I thought I could keep track as the girls were mostly wearing personalized kit, then I discovered one girl had borrowed kit off another.

I'm going to tweet this whole thread. It's certainly something to crow about.

I see people are flocking to this theme.

Windows Firewall - worth the trouble ?
dcwhitworth replied to dcwhitworth's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
Well I think any malware with access to a domain admin account would be serious trouble firewall or no. We've got a few users on their PCs with local admin access due to carppily written software, but no one uses domain admin access to log into their PCs, not even us. The best protection against malware is not giving users local admin access. But thanks everyone for your thoughts, very useful. -
Windows Firewall - worth the trouble ?
dcwhitworth replied to dcwhitworth's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
That's kind of my thinking. Most stuff looking to maliciously spread will be using conventional routes that will be open on a firewall anyway. Windows 10 has pretty good mitigation built in too so situations like Confiker should be in the rear view mirror. We're currently not running the firewall on PCs but are on servers, but even then we've had to turn it off on a couple of servers as we just can't get some stuff working through it. I'm planning on trying to get it working again on PCs, just wanted to see what others were doing to see where I should put it on the priority list. -
Short boundary ? Fair dos, 22 off 7 balls is impressive and a tidy bowling spell too. Shame three guys after him spent 32 balls getting 14.

W10 Ent LTSC (1809 2019) - Giving 1903 feature update option
dcwhitworth replied to Ertech's topic in Windows 10
Apparently Microsoft have recently re-released the 1809 feature update. A quote I have seen "There seem to be very few details regarding the content of, or the need for, the revision. It is believed the revision includes the latest feature updates and improvements, the Windows 10 build version matches that of the 2019-03 Windows 10 Cumulative Update.". Don't know if this might have something to do with it ? -
Oh, OK. I didn't realise we were being fair to Bobby ;-)

Idly browsing the results I notice he hasn't played since.

Most incompetent practical joke ever ?

Wednesday 10th July, I shall be watching ! Just noticed it was a clash between two undefeated teams, first defeat of the season adds a little spice to the mix.

Oh might as well fall on his bat then, life can't be worth living.

Bunch of saps.

And Tom's team won, and he outscored Bobby, and Bobby bowled seven wides, and Bobby was bowled which I always think is about the worst way to get out. I can find enough material there to keep going for a good long while and I wasn't even there !

I've just twigged what's going on here, but I'm going to leaf well alone.
-
There was a bit ! This was in the first innings, the team batting second won. It went to the last over but they always felt in control, maybe the extra runs would have made a difference, but I don't think so.

That's what I did, I've posted the incident to our umpires' forum to get some thoughts on the event. We gave the poor scorers a hard time as there was also an LBW decision from my colleague which he then reversed.

Umpired my first game in the Norfolk Alliance on Saturday (top level of cricket with the county), all went pretty well and one or two interesting oddities including the batsman who insisted he didn't want the four runs I'd just signalled. It was overthrows and he said he'd (inadvertently) obstructed the wicketkeeper from fielding it. I hadn't seen this as I was watching the stumps at the other end. Very odd.
