Just an update, To fix it go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab and enable 'Use HTTP 1.1' and 'Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections'. If this works you can deploy these via the RMMC (or GPO, if you're not RM) - it worked for us. Lee

Nice one Ben, we contacted them Yesterday morning and they said they wern't aware of any issue. Resetting internet explorer settings worked for us too, just need to try and track down what GPO setting(s) in the RMMC are causing this.

Is anyone having problems getting onto AQAs website? Since the re-design it completely crashes IE8 and IE9 but works fine with Chrome. As we are a CC4 school we currently have IE8 everywhere, we tried to upgrade to IE9 but that crashed out every 5 minutes so we decided to hold off. Obviously this is causing us a real headache as it's exam season and we're getting increasing numbers of staff complain! Lee

Hi, I know there's been threads about this before, but I can't find them with the search I am looking to earn a bit of extra cash, doing some routine computer work on the side. My idea was a collect & return service, picking up peoples faulty computers, fixing them at home and then returning them, or possibly doing the work 'on-site'. Few questions: Does anyone currently do this? Some advice would be appreciated How much should I charge? Per hour + parts? or fixed price depending on the fix? Where's the best place to advertise? I was thinking a FB/twitter page and then distributing business cards in the local area with my details on. What equipment would I need as a minimum? Many thanks

I once drove from Birmingham to Essex in a 1L fiat, it was blizzard conditions the whole way down! Man-up!!

We are looking at investing in around 30 iPad minis - I know Apple tend to fix their prices but does anyone know where I can get them at a discounted price? Apples 'Educational Discount' isn't that great. At the moment RM seem to be the cheapest I can find!

Thanks for the replies @Net-Ctrl we've been in touch! (via our NM)

Have you used these companies? If so, were you happy with them?

Hi, We are looking for a company who can come onsite and install and configure a ruckus wireless system, basically from scratch to working and configured, possibly with a guest VLAN for BYOD. Could anybody reccommend anyone?

Wait...am i on to something here? (Kyocera Printers)
BassTech replied to Little-Miss's topic in General Chat
Had exactly the same as @Little-Miss with all of our compatible colour brother toners. Now we buy all original manufacturer toners for all our colour printers, and use compatible for the mono printers only. We found compatible colour toners to be a false economy. -
Haha, would be very windy/noisy with that processor fan!

1. So Sony have made a console which we are "no where near maxing out the processor" but it can't handle opening msn due to lack of memory. Well done sony (though my bets are on your source is incorrect as I just can't see a messenger app using much memory) MSN??? and basically, yes they have. PS3 has 512MB, split between CPU and GPU, many devs have said over the Years the low memory is a big issue with the PS3, so each MB is precious to devs. 2. We took GT round a mates to play when it first came out. It took 3 hours to install, update the console and update the game. This is on a reliable 10mb virgin line. Yes 3 hours. That was the last time any of us entertained the idea of playing a PS. Different. I was talking about 100mb file. The install takes a long time, but that's nothing to do with internet speeds. All the updates together are massively big, I expect if GT5 was on the Xbox 360 the speeds would be the same. 3. This depends on the game, I very rarely experience lag online on PS3 I played FIFA 13 and BO2 for hours last night, in a party with my headset and not one bit of lag. Don't know about BO2 but FIFA, as with every EA game, uses EAs/Origin servers so nothing to do with MS or Sony on the gaming front. True, also exclusive PS3 games run great online... Warhawk springs to mind...

UPDATE: WALL STREET JOURNAL CONFIRM VIDEO IS PS4 TEASER: WSJ: Yes, Sony Will Announce the PlayStation 4 on February 20th | Gizmodo UK

I'll answer them: 1) Parties. Currently you can only talk to friends who are in the same game as you. The additional bandwidth on Sony servers for party chat would be immense, therefore there would need to be a cost Sony already wanted to implement cross-game-chat into the PS3 as it was the most requested feature. The reason they didn't do this is because the PS3 simply does not have enough memory available to support cross-game-chat. Sony have themselves confirmed this - nothing to do with bandwidth. 2) Service. A 100mb file on a 50mb connection on xbox takes a shade under 2 minutes, the same size file on PS3 on the same connection, at a similar time and day, takes half hour. They need to increase bandwidth to cope with demand for downloads I disagree with this, my PS3 has never taken half an hour to download 100mb, even on wireless on a sky broadband 8mb line... 3) Lag. Xbox rarely suffers from gaming or party chat lag. PS3 suffers frequently. This is using a wired connection on both machines. This depends on the game, I very rarely experience lag online on PS3 I played FIFA 13 and BO2 for hours last night, in a party with my headset and not one bit of lag. Again this was at peak UK time (6-8ish), wireless on sky broadband.

Some people seem to think it's the announcement for Gaikai - The live streaming service that sony purchased not long ago, and that this will be an addition to PS+ (Similar to OnLive) I doubt very much that sony will start charging everyone for online gaming.

True, but I think crappily-edited videos are part of the fun of YouTube.. If everything was 1080p I don't think it would be the same somehow -

It goes against what the internet stands for, the adverts are bad enough! -
I'm going to go with the latter.

If it's done right then yes, brilliant. But, this is England..... It will not be completed in time and it will be over budget. Oh, and I bet the ticket prices will be a joke!

I sort of do that now, there is a NM but I handle all orders at the moment - ink, bulbs, bits n bobs etc he just manages bigger spending like computer suites, but I am capable of doing that as well. Thanks for the offer, I may take you up on it in the future which leads me onto another question.... When is the best time to apply for a new job? I was thinking sometime around the summer.
