I've been working on a few similar GPP printing issues for a while now, this one included. The following has helped a bit: Group policy printers dissapearing from client machines intermittently That seems to have gotten rid of the 0x0000709 error, but I'm still seeing similarly intermittent problems with printers not working correctly, corresponding to entries in the Application event log for Group Policy Printers at logon with error 0x8007000a The environment is incorrect.. There are other suggestions in threads linked from the above, but I'm still working my way through them myself so it's too early to say if any of them work 100%.

@AMLightfoot provided the answer here Bear in mind that whitelisting is the important bit (not just allowing) and this may adversely affect other filtering of YouTube. In our case, we use the Youtube for Education HTTP header, and that still applies even with the whitelisting in place.

I've always had a .msi and .cab file from the Java installers. It's not at all unusual for Windows Installers to be separated out this way: a .msi on its own just has a .cab embedded into it. I'm sure Impero must be able to deploy a setup with more than 1 file, so if you just include the .cab alongside the .msi it should work fine.

Which is nice, but unfortunately leaves almost all of the problem unsolved. A 5 year old should not be expected to log onto the SCCM client portal. There appears to be no way to deploy paid apps, or buy them in bulk. Updates will presumably still have to be installed manually. On top of all that, we have to use SCCM, which requires significant server resources and should not be necessary for something this basic.

File > Print Change the Print Range option to Selection.

Selecting just the text/images you need and then using the 'print selection' option worked for me.

I'm actually seeing the same symptoms on our iOS devices at the moment. Works fine on our desktops which have exactly the same filtering policy. No block messages being reported, but suspiciously it is logging HTTP 204 (No content) when we try to access a video. I haven't completely ruled out a network issue yet as the iPads access the Smoothwall on a different VLAN, but everything else is working fine. The problem also occurs whether I use a transparent or non-transparent interface.

Set up WPAD so that clients can auto-detect proxy settings. Your Smoothwall box can do most of the heavy lifting (Web proxy » Web proxy » Automatic configuration), but if you have trouble I'm sure support can walk you through it.

I don't think it has strict requirements, unlike the Windows 7 logon screen. I think it just scales to fit the screen while maintaining aspect ratio (so prepare for cropping on screens that are a different aspect ration from the image).

Yep, check under Computer Configuration > Policies > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Account Policies > Account Lockout Policy. I believe you need to change this on the GPO that applies to your domain controllers. Is there any pattern to the affected users? The only time we've had this, it was due to students intentionally locking out each others' accounts by entering the wrong password repeatedly.

What version of IE are you on? I definitely had it working on IE9 when it first launched over here. Will bear that in mind if I have problems in future though.

Our TTS Easi-scopes work in Windows 7. The software is a bit basic but it does work. I even have an MSI that I made but not sure of the legality of posting it publicly, so PM me if you are interested.

This is pretty much how we do it as well. We also use ShowPoint to display an automatic PowerPoint on one of them. There are plenty of expensive systems that can centrally manage these sorts of things, and also the open-source Xibo which people rave about on here but seemed awful and bug-ridden when I tried it. We also use AutoHideMouseCursor to make the mouse pointer invisible on the machines running IE full screen.

Mainly it's because Smartviewer is badly coded and doesn't work right under a limited user account, which is what is triggering the UAC prompt. Even if it was signed, you would still get the prompt.

In my experience, the odds of getting that file restored (it contains the main system registry) and then having the machine stay working for very long afterwards are almost zero. I strongly recommend a reinstall. Also, check the hard disk for errors - it may be failing.

When you buy through the VPP I think the redemption codes have to be allocated individually to each device using a MDM system. That's what we do (using Meraki Systems Manager), and I've not tried redeeming it any other way.

I don't have any experience with iTunes syncing, but I'm pretty sure you'll need to use a different Apple ID. I should point out that if you are adding extra devices, you need to buy additional copies of the app again anyway. Only home users are permitted to share one purchase of an app on multiple devices. Outside of home use, you are in breach of the licence if you use it on more than one device.
