Same here the school can't afford it. Have tried Ricoh but haven't had a reply yet

It's hold print so you print and when you get to the copier you have tap your name to release the printing. Thanks

Hi, Bit of a problem with printing - School has Ricoh copier and it's set to hold print, using the Windows log in name. Most of the staff can print no problem but there is a member of staff that can't. All I get is Access Restricted when I log into the copier and check the log. I've check her permissions on the copier and she has the same as all the others and her AD account is the same as everyone else. Googling has come up blank. Any ideas why she has no permission to print? Thanks

Hi, I am setting up a Windows 10 build for a primary and they have a redirected start menu. What they'd like is for the Windows 10 start menu not to be there so get rid of all the W10 apps in the start menu and just leave the redirected one. I've been through Group Policy but Can't find one that works. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi, I am in the process of updating a schools staff laptops to LTSB16, we are now ironing out some issues one seems to be the redirected start menu. In Windows 7 the start Menu is redirected for all staff and synchronises so they can access it at home but in Windows 10 it doesn't sync. All the GPO's show as applying but once the laptop is off the domain the start menu disappears. They have put links on the desktop in the mean time but it would be good to have the start menu syncing as it doesn't in 7. Any ideas? Thanks

Looks like it was a filtering issue it's working but it is still temperamental, having a battle to convince anyone there's an issue! will keep monitoring it.

No it's a teacher profile, it works fine when I log on as that user on Windows 7. Have been through permissions but can't see anything.

Bit of an odd one. The primary school I support are upgrading to Windows 10 and one of the checks threw up and issue with the folder redirection start menu. It will redirect the current start menu no problem but when I try to add a new program for example today was SMART 17 the SMART technologies folder and bits appear but the actual application SMART 17 does not appear. If I right click an icon and open file location you can it's there. It has happened with other icons as well. The start menu redirection works fine in Windows 7.

Hi I have got 3 Macs added to the schools domain and users can log on to them with their Domain name and password, they would now like to be able to see the school network drives when they log in but I can't find anyway of doing this. Can it be done? I know how to map the individual drives and add them into the users logon locally on the Mac but the domain accounts don't show up so I can't do it that way. Any ideas?? Thanks

SOPHOS have checked all of the logs and updated the licence but they are now convinced it's a proxy issue. Just not sure how one out of 20 odd schools is the only one having the issue if it's the proxy. I'll try and find their error logs.

Morning, I have a school that use SOPHOS enterprise console and it's not updating. I look after a few schools in the same County and they all have the same setup of SOPHOS on their servers using a generic setup by the local ICT service but one School will now not update, I couldn't see any reason why they suddenly stopped working. I've compared all servers and all settings are the same except the username and password which the ICT service have confirmed they are correct. SOPHOS have remoted in and setup their own updater that only works intermittently but are insisting the proxy settings are blocking the updates even though all the other schools are working. The ICT service want to charge the school just to have a look so before They fork out I wanted to see if any one had any ideas? When you open the source details I get the error message - Check of Update source failed: 'warehouselistdata: Failed to read customer file content.'. and in the view manager details - Error code 80040401 software update failed. - I'm struggling to find the answer to this one as SOPHOS are blaming the proxy and not being helpful. Thanks

I know this is a while ago but this helped me resolve this issue. The only thing I would recommend is that the staff member back up any documents they have worked on at home on to a external hard drive just in case. Then copy them while connected to the network and synchronise. Hope it helps someone. 1. Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Continue. 2. Locate the following registry subkey, and then right-click it: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\CSC 3. Point to New, and then click Key. 4. Type Parameters in the box. 5. Right-click Parameters, point to New, and then click DWORD (32-bit)Value. 6. Type FormatDatabase, and then press ENTER. 7. Right-click FormatDatabase, and then click Modify. 8. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK. 9. Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.

Hi, I have a school that use Apple Configurator to look after their iPad's. they have purchased some Blue Bots but the iPad can't seem to find it when you turn Bluetooth on and on the odd occasion it odes find it it says unable to conenct but no other helpful error codes. I've been through all the restrictions that have been set but can't find anything that would stop Bluetooth connection. Any ideas? Thanks
