Im looking for a invisable hit counter to go onto the school web site, request from SMT. They want to know all kinds of information, like what time the site was visited, how many hits per day, etc........ i rang up our RBC to see if they had nething like this already on the server and was told if i wanted something like this then i would have to code it myself..... Does anyone know of some good examples for this? Cheers

I use Avast at home, and it works a treat... it doesnt hog memory at all... i use to use Norton AV before at home, but this is a lot better and very easy on the memory! Im not sure about deploying it as at School we use Sophos AV

o right ok...... well i dont have a manufactuer utility on the laptops cause its a clean install on xp for it to go on the network...... Ive just looked at a laptop that came with the standard build, but that doesnt have a power utility by fujitsu on it..... im stumpped!!

Ive just looked at the power setting, and there is nothing there that i can see that might stop the USB ports from working..... I rebooted the machine, with the power plugged in, and that didnt bring the USB ports back. Any other suggestions?

We have got a couple of laptop by fujitsu simens, its the E series and i think they are E8010 model.. We have had these for a couple of years now, and they were all part of the Laptop For Teachers Scheme which were bought by our LA Recently ive had a couple of them come back to me and all the USB (3 ports) port just seem to die and cant get them back again, and a restart dont seem to fix the issue either...... i have to try to build them again, but the teacher are too dependent on them and i havent got my hands on any of them to try this as yet.... Was just wondering if anyone else had faced similar issues, and if there was a fix for this! Thanks Niraj

We also use eclipse, the access version, but im not sure if the kids do the book reviews etc..... i will have to ask the Lib about that one But i must have installed it 2 years back, and have had to do very little maintainance on it....... i would say its very stable overall!

Ranj, Speak to Ashok, he has moved away from the LEA broadband con... and moved over to NTL.... He will be able to advise you if you are looking to move away from your LEA..

Hi Guys This is prob going to be a simple one for you... but ive just created a test win 2003 domain.... and i want to create a user with the same access rights as the administrator account..... Every time i log onto the client with a user which is a memeber of the administrators group and i want to install some software..... its telling me that i need to log onto the network with administrative rights.... Can anyone help me out on this Cheers Niraj

that adds the values together..... i want the results from each field as 3 individual results. individual rows

the data is alphanumeric data...... i want to query 3 fields form the table return the results as if it was 3 entries from a single field in the table... so i would want them returned as year7 and the result would be 3 individual rows from the fields ict7, dt7, art7 etc.....

I am wanting to do an query on a database, im using mysql. i want to query 3 fields on a single table but want the results to comeout as just one field. it was a long shot but i tried the following which didnt work, but might explain what i want to do SELECT dt7 AS year7, ict7 AS year7, art AS year7 WHERE sID=1; this didnt work, can anyone shed some light as to how i can do this Thanks Nij

I have just installed Cisco 1150 series access points, and they are very reliable and very easy to configue aswell.... but like Ueline said they can be expensive

well i dont think that its best practice, but i guess you could, as long as the distance from the cab to the point + the length of the long patch lead dont extend 90M ( i know it says 100M) to maintain QOS

our domain controllers are win 2000 server with SP4.... will it apply to that? Thanks for the link aswell....

I run Viglen Classlink XP at my school and recently did a test with 2 machines on login times. XP Service Pack 1 XP Service Pack 2 SP2 machines took considerbly longer to log onto the domain then SP1 machines, does anyone know why this is..... or does anyone have any tweeks to speed up logins.... I spoke to Viglen Tech support about this, and they tried to fob me off about saying profiles were the problem, too many profiles on the local machine.... but i checked this and this is not the case....
