I HATE REDSTONE !!!!! They used to be OK with the usual few glitches which you can handle dealing with, however, not sure what's happened recently but they have obviously changed their policies and they're a nightmare to deal with. has anyone else had experiences like this? Anyway, my real question is, who would you recommend as a good supplier? I don't really want to bring the filtering in-house at this stage so preferrably one that can offer a filtering service too? please help me

I'm with K-Strider, my previous school was almost 100% NS Optimum machines and we had very few problems. a few PSU's every now and then but that was about it, they sent them and I fitted them so was only a day or two down time. I've had problems with Dell in the past trying to get parts for machines, you're ok within the warranty but afterwards it's a nightmare. I'm currently using my persuasive powers to get NSO on board here... we've currently got the dreaded Research Machines.. AGGGGHGHHHHHHH. it's not the machines so much as the software good luck in what you decide.

sounds like sales spiel..... But according to other posts he seems legit or sneaky lol, I don't work for them but see what you mean... I'm just a bit annoyed with the cr4p kit and support at my new school. I take it you haven't heard of them then. - If i did work for them however I should be able to spell 'business' correctly in the subject heading :oops:

Has anyone used Harry Shaw Business Computers before and have you got any reports? I have heard that they pride themselves on their support rather than most education suppliers who skimp on their support. My new school are thinking of buying a new HP Server and about 50 new PC's and some cabling from them and I must say, if their support is as good as I have heard then I am very tempted to agree to the decision... Imagine the time and stress saved chasing companies for technical support and warranties.. can it be this good? They also run another side of the business as a travel company and also use the coaches for many local school runs, this is where i have heard of them before. Please let me know your thoughts. thanks Gordon.

Im my last school we used Redstone as they then deal with all the filtering in-house saving us time, had no real problems with them. Gordon.

Hi, i've viewed this forum for a while but never posted anything so I hope i'm doing it right.. I've just moved from a NS school and i must say I found no problems at all with the equipment or service, all bar a few problems that were dealt with quickly and to my satisfaction. I have dealt with DELL and RM before, i found them both extremely unflexible when it cam eto problems solving and DELLs support was an absolute joke, when I have a problems I want to talk to someone who speaks English at least. My last purchase with NS was a few more PC's for the suite, a new server and a trolley of laptops back in April and we had no problems at all. The school I have moved to has a much larger network and I will most definately be bringing NS along with me. Gordon.
