i think this is the case, im not too hot on microsoft licencing.... but as long as u own licences for your Win 98 then u can just by an upgrade licence and that basically turns into an XP Licence.... It might just be worth checking that with people that sell licences, we use Pugh and Ramsys

I would def go down the route of having Air Con fitted.... depending on the size of the room, u could prob get a decent little unit.... and in the long run i would say it the best option... I have use air coolers before, but i dont think they work aswell as Air Con... and with air con u can leave it running over nite aswell, so u dont have the security risk of having to leave a window open for the air cooler to work

we got a quote from Evesham computers i think it was last year, and they turned out to be quite pricey so in the end we decided to go with Viglen, Ive recently bought from Stone Computers which also are nice machines. I know there was a thread which said they sent out a lot of SPAM emails, but ive never got any from them and there warrenties are suppose to be very good aswell

Im stuck with EMBC at the moment, and at times they are not helpful at all... There was something from the Council about moving away from EMBC and joining 3rd party vendors like NTL as they dont have a link into the councils network..... I would love to move away from EMBC and to someone like NTL but due to funding in school, this is not possible for me

we have about 3 of these printers, and ive not had any issues with the printer and very easy to set up...... Its not the fastest printer in the world, so if you are looking for speed then look at something else.... as for cost ive not had to change any toners as yet, so not worked it out.... but all round good printer, and can take heavy load aswell without problems....

Ive never tried to do this using IIS/ASP and i never figured out if you could do it using PHP either..... the way around this i found, and which could save u time messing around with IIS settings is on the default.asp setup the page using frames, so that the top frame is like 0% and sits at the top and then all yr content sits in the bottom frame, and that way the URL will just stay as http://Http://intranet cause all the linking will take place in the bottom frame... One solution

the 2600N is a nice printer, i bought about 3 for school and they do the job well... and they are a good price, but thats if you want to spend that much for a printer at home

I personally stick with Nero, and it does everything that i need to do, we dont allow the kids access to the ROM drives so they cannot burn anything if they need nething burning then they have to come to us. Staff use Roxio which seems to work pretty well for all they need to do

well like ric and chris said, windows already has this built in, but if you want to run these scripts, im sure u already know this, but u have to run them through IIS... also paged saved as ASP, is yr machine part of the domain aswell... so that the access right apply.... u dont have to have VB installed on the local machine, u just need IIS running where the files are located and the server will process the page

ive just tryed to get a copy aswell and ive just recieved the same error messsage, i will have to give it a try a bit later on or at home

well i have just managed to get it installed on a laptop and im just messing around with it now the install looks like Mac, but i will try and post some screenshots of it up as soon as i can

i have to agree with the general feeling in this thread to say i dont think it is the network managers job to have to move installations... espically things like whiteboards which many of us are not trainined to do

it could be the motherboard that has gone... it sounds like a very similar problem with some Tosh laptops, i use to be an engineer for tosh laptops and have done some work on acer laptops aswell... and it sounds like the motherboard could have gone... is it still under warrenty?
