Anyone got one of these phones? After some feedback on them if I may please.

I'd go Exchange but using O365 over Gmail anyday. Suppose its a bit like Exchange v Notes v Groupwise!

I'm currently looking for one, had the S4 and S6 as the last 2 phones so naturally went to look at S7 and S8. For me the S8 was straight out the window, didn't have the feel. So on my list are: Huawei P10 LG G6 Galaxy S7 Once in Currys (only went to have a hands on look) the rest were recommended HTC U11 Huawei P8 and P8 Lite One Plus was recommended but they don't stock. The Alcatel Shine Lite was also recommended but think I will skip that. I have had HTC in the past (in fact was first Android based phone), seems ok, all of them seem good but thinking of coming away from Samsung. All the above do seem good phones, just not sure what to go for.

I remember using these at primary school, all the programming was done from the button on top.

You can put higher quality papers through multi function machines and all you need to do is change the paper type to it doesn't heat up as much therefore ruining the paper. I have numerous customers who no longer use pre printed mainly due to amount of changes etc and just print. I think it's the way forward as most things get PDF'd and uploaded too.

Hikvision here at home. Not gone 4K as no need, the normal HD stuff is good enough.

I'd always recommend Comms Express for cables. Used them for last few years with no issues.

Oak logging is generally what is used with Avaya IPO I think, not sure on cost as we bundled it in on our systems that needed it.

Is regmon still available, see what key it changes and then add it in to your GPO to apply that registry fix so when its launched it will think its already happened.

I suppose money will play a big part in it, not sure on cost difference now between CAT5 and 6 as its been a while. For general use I see no issue in using CAT5, it supports GB.

Don't use WSD just add the printer as a local printer and in port option create a TCP/IP port. I always disable WSD on devices 1 to stop them been detected but to save issues down the line i.e. if I replace it I can keep the same IP and often driver depending on printer type.

Might be worth getting your embedded upgraded, might help with speed issues possibly? I think you can only upgrade if in maintenance, well on the main PCounter product that is the case.

More PCounter, the embedded side of things I have seen for Sharp and Toshiba isn't much better I don't think. The latest version for KM is 5.1.0.0, what version are you on? PCounter is on 2.87 as the latest version too.

Have you tried the new mobility print function if you are still in maintenance? There is a windows installer which would be ideal for this and it will prompt per print job for them to put in their AD credentials. Let me know can talk you through it if you are up to date.

I've just had a look at what notes I have on this, I've not used PCounter with KM devices but there doesn't appear to reduce the steps other than removing the client code option so it doesn't report that. Do you need that bit, do you report on it? As regards to slowness try disabling your AV and see if that speeds it up, if so there are some exceptions you can put in to help there. Personally its a dated product going no where, its not changed in nearly 8 years at least of me using it and its not developed to keep up with software/hardware changing.

Why don't you just install it locally on each PC pointing the port at the IP address like you do on the server?

Your right on that one, only some drinks in bulk are cheaper there (well at Makro at least).

I generally work with these for starters for example: Default Computer Default User Default Server User - Staff User - Student User - IT Server - depending if it needs other settings i.e. RDS farm. Test User Test Computer Also if its just doing computer or user settings I change the enable/disable appropriate to it.

I use Makro but only for certain things as its sometimes cheaper in the likes of Tesco. Wash powder, kitchen towel, toilet rolls, fabric softner work out a bit cheaper so I tend to get that in bulk a few times a year.

That is true it is visible. You could do a bulk update but PaperCut can take care of this automatically when you import users and set it to auto generate, you can still view them in the admin page as can users in their page if you enable that section.

Got to share this story I've just read on the Register.

You can set PaperCut to read a field in AD i.e. pager or you can set it to auto generate an ID number at what ever length either in the primary or secondary field in the user in PaperCut. I normally go to the secondary field and if cards are used they can be registered in the primary field. I also enable the section in the PaperCut user interface where users can view their code (once logged in with AD details) and or change it/auto generate a new one.

Surely if you add the email account and tick the box to sync your calendar it will appear in the native Android app?
