Morning, Has anyone used their .admx file for IE9 to set mulitple home pages? We've followed the instructions found on the web and it works of sorts but for some reason pupils are automatically given an extra tab opening for Hotmail, Messenger, Latest news, Sport, Music, Movies, Cars - MSN UK It's really weird. The problem I have is that each member of staff will have their own siggy - they may want to edit it as well. I just dont understand why it will not load off the Exchange server - everything else does. WHy doesn't the signature synchronise? Gareth

We use a mandatory profile. I wondered whether we could store something in which is located in the users . Gareth

Afternoon, We currently use OWA and Exchange 2007 which is supplied by the LEA. In the options users can create their own signature and have it appended to the end of each email. Several users have done this. Several staff have asked if they could use the main Outlook client (in our case 2010) as it removes the need to login to the Exchange server to read their email. The LEA do not support this as they want a uniform look and feel across the board. However I'm under pressure to offer the Outlook client. After testing with my mail account for a few weeks I'm happy that it is working. WHat I'm not happy with is that the signature does not come over from OWA into their messages. I've tried creating a signature with the Outlook 2010 client and it works whilst the user is logged in. What the software doesn't do is save the signature for the next time the person (me) logs in. Has anyone got his working and can advise? Many thanks Gareth

Have IWB devices had their day? Trying to get an Apple TV to play through a projector is a nightmare (especially without HDMI). Yes we can order those Kanex devices but at £51 they add a lot to the ATV. So what could we use? At BETT this year we saw a lot of touchscreens - large ones. Has anyone gone this route or can advise on any other sort of AV solution to replace the whiteboard? Many thanks Gareth

A question.... In MDT I want to start making my yearly image. We do this around June/July ready for the next year or so. However even though I have my Build share on the MDt server I cannot seem to get my computer to boot into it. The Build share contains the blank Windows 7 image from CD. It has a suspend task in there which stops the build ready for me to install and prepare the image before clicking an icon for it to resume. For the life of me I cannot see how to get it into the Build share. It seems to go straight into our deployment share. As I write this something tells me I burnt a cd to get me access to the build share - can anyone confirm? Gareth

Morning, I'm wondering what people use to connect Apple TV (HDMI) devices to projectors that have no HDMI input? We use Epson EB-X11 projectors across the schools with dual VGA cables running from the wall to the projector and computer. Many thanks Gareth

The past week has seen the first stages of Garden 2012 come into being.... Does anyone else grow stuff and take pride in their garden? SOme pictures for people... Fencing went up a few weeks ago to stop Boy 1.0 getting access to the shed and greenhouse. Little Tykes play set went up last weekend and tonight the toms got planted. My spend this year was an automatic watering kit. I know we don't grow enough to be self-sufficient, but when I retire I will (31 years away?). Got some more veg to get in the raised beds now and I'll be happy. Also need to re-turf the 5x4 square in front of the playset where the rockery was. So let's discuss gardening. Oh, forgot to put my Nemetodes in this evening to kill the slugs. Gareth

Extremely important to get the pupils involved as well in any ICT Steering Group - even if they have their own group. Both ESTYN and OFSTED are in favour of pupil groups - especially if they are seen to be influencing school policy. Gareth

I agree totally - but it's also important that if schools are in a situation where the techician reports to the ICT Coordinator that there needs to be mutual respect. Not all techies are educationally aware whilst not all ICT teachers/coordinators are technically aware. The big challenge is working together to provide an environment that encourages learning. Pupils don't care about the politics which is why we just all have to work together to keep the systems chugging along. Good work everyone - let's keep going. Gareth
