If I ignore the licencing section in the Online Office Customization Tool and then export the config file, I end up with the following... Can I just change the 'device based licencing from 0 to 1, even though I couldn't change it in the config tool or does the licencing not work like this, very confusing. Basically our ICT suite could have any number of different staff or pupils, so trying to workout how I get Office licenced for this. The licencing company just needed the amount of full time staff (200 hours per year), they didn't ask about pupil numbers. Have we been sold the wrong license?

So I have always hated MS licencing, I believe its someone job at MS to actually make this has complicated and painful as is possible. We ( primary school) mainly use G Suite but some staff + pupils also use office 2013 pro, so I decided to get them upgraded to Office 2019 pro plus. I recently contacted a company, told them we needed some Office 2019 pro plus licences for the school and they supplied me with a MS licencing portal details. I have downloaded the files from our licencing portal + MAK key. I have got my head around the fact I need to create a setup folder on C and then create the installer xml config files. Just using the basic xml file I found online I created the installer and I was also able to install onto Office onto a test PC. I then wanted to control the install a bit more so found out I needed to create a config.xml file using the Online Office Customization Tool so started to fill this out, but when I get to the product activation section I am only able to select 'user' based activation. With our Office 2013 I was able to install one version on each machine and this would get licenced for everyone on that machine, which is what I want to do with our Office 2019 but both 'Shared computer' and 'Device based' options are greyed out. What do I need to do to get device based setup? BTW - when I open the licensing portal it says I have 50 activations or seats. These would get used up in no time if each user needed a licence on a shared device.

So apparently the school tried to use unlisted videos on YouTube in the past, but a few parents are very reluctant for their children to be on any platform (like Youtube) even if it's private. Google have told me that they do have a limit on how many people can watch a video from Drive, but this gets reset after 24 hours.

if the parents are watching an unlisted YouTube video, do they get all the adverts and stuff down the side of the page?

Never had this issue before but will remember for next time.

So Google might think the video is a commercial film. Is this on a viewer by viewer bases as I have been watching the video since being told about the issue and it's been fine for me. Would an unlisted youtube video not also have the same issues?

The primary school uploaded a nativity play to Google drive and shared the link to parents. We are getting reports of the following error messages 'says it’s been viewed by too many users and try again later.' 'it says Iv exceeded my watch limit' This is only a small one form entry primary school, any idea what is going on?

Just a little confused how quick access works based on the displayed info. So if you are not invited you will need to ask to join the meeting, but surly if you are not invited that means you are anonymous but that then means you cant join the meeting. Also we would like to make people ask to join, does that simply mean not entering their email address while creating the calendar invite?

OK so in the end I found a Sharp printing app in the Play Store which seems to be working on my test Chromebook. Shame I couldn't get Mobility Print working as that seems to have a few more options.

Sorry I am in the middle of a video conference but just had a teacher that urgently needs to send a video files out via Google Classroom but need to stop the pupils from downloading the video. is this possible in classroom?

I have also tried to set this up using the DNS method but still no joy. We have a very basic network, one subnet, no vlans, one DC and a print server.

OK I have disabled pin numbers on one of the printers, installed Mobility Print, deployed the Mobility printer app to the chromebooks. The app just sits there searching for printers, I have disables the print server firewall.

Can Mobility Print handle pin numbers?

I have just logged on to the MFP printer but cant see anything listed about CUPS :-( I have also just noticed Sharp do an Android app, which I can test when I am next in the school.

We recently got a few Smart interactive TV's installed, all work OK but the software on each laptop has a red cross with (hardware disconnected) listed. If I scan for the hardware nothing is found but the boards themselves work fine. I was told that the red cross might be due to Smart moving to a portal based login system and we need to activate each board in the portal. Is this actually now needed as we have a site licence?
