  1. Yes, the school use SIMS
  2. When I last installed Office (2013) it was recommended to use the 32bit version even on 64bit OS. Is this still the case for Office 2019?
  3. OK, someone has just come back to me via email and said that if we are not using different accounts on the iPads we can probably make do without Mosyle as an MDM, as we can just use ASM to deploy the apps. Obviously I know very little about either system. What would you say is the main selling point for Mosyle over ASM, for a very small deployment of iPads without user accounts. Sorry for the noob question :0)
  4. I just stubbled on another post where someone asked a similar question and this was the reply from an accountant. I'll ask our bursar and see what she says.
  5. In ASM apps section it is asking if the school is 'Taxable / not VAT registered' or 'VAT registered'. Does anyone know which this would be for an LEA school? I believe its not VAT registered but wanted to double check.
  6. very sorry but all our internet traffic is routed through our LA who manage the Smoothwall system, I don't have any access to it.
  7. We have a Unifi system but don't have the guest login section enabled, but do use the guest mode, which keeps the traffic sperate, this means we can just give out the WiFi password and off they go. We also have Smoothwall set to default all none proxied traffic the same as the students traffic, so the guest doesn't need to worry about proxy stuff either.
  8. yes ORG I have just applied for Mosley. EDIT - Mosyle This month has been a killer month, needed to enrol / learn about Chromebooks / G Suite and now learn / enrol iPads and ASM, lol.
  9. OK, so the iPads are currently out of stock for another week or so. I have given them our Apple ID and entered the resellers ID, think that's all I need until they get enrolled by the reseller. I believe the school (primary) just want a single account setup on each tablet, can this be achieved using just ASM or do we also need an MDM?
  10. Well originally I thought they were getting laptops or chromebooks, then the other day I get an email from the head saying she is getting Ipads.
  11. We are in the process of purchasing some iPads and the seller needs our DEP info to enrol them. We have never had iPads at this primary school When I look for Apple DEP I am also noticing Apple School Manager, are these the same thing, do I need to sign up for both, if so which should I sign up for first? In the Apple School Manager it lists this - Add device suppliers to Apple School Manager If you purchase devices through participating Apple Authorized Resellers or carriers, you can add supplier information in Apple School Manager, so orders placed with that reseller or carrier automatically appear in Apple School Manager. Before you can assign devices, you must have entered your appropriate Apple customer number and communicated your Organization ID to a participating Apple Authorized Reseller or carrier and added their Reseller ID to your account. For more information, see Manage device suppliers in the Apple School Manager User Guide. So does this mean the reseller should have asked for the School Manager customer number, not DEP number.
  12. I am a bit shocked that the school is not even bothering to setup the student accounts. Anyway to answer the question, or perhaps I already have, we have student accounts setup within our domain. Would you mind sharing you consent form, its not normally something I would do, and if its already been done.......
  13. Just about to let the pupils use Google Classroom at a primary school and then remembered we might need to get the parents consent. Do we need consent? Can someone share a consent form so I have something to work from. Thanks
  14. Almost at the stage we can release Google Classroom at our primary school. Going to start by setting some homework for KS2 and expand from there. Just wondered if anyone had any parent friendly 'This is Google Classroom', getting started help docs they wouldn't mind sharing. Thanks
  15. Well that was annoying :-(. Drove over to the school and nothing works. If I go into calibrate in control panel click setup, hit enter at the first screen (as I don't need the main laptop screen setup) then on the next screen hit the middle of the TV when asked, it does registers that I have pressed the screen and that is that. If I then click on Calibrate, no matter what I do it only tries to calibrate the laptop screen, even when the calibration cross I need to press is displayed on the TV, when I press it it presses the equivalent part on the laptop monitor. I also cant get it to work when I select screen 2 as the primary monitor, no matter which monitor I pick as primary, when I press on the Smart TV it always registers the press as being on the laptop screen. This is really starting to annoy me know.
  16. @eddyc I have still not been able to get the Smart TV to pickup the correct extended desktop, any chance you can upload a screenshot :0)
  17. Think I'm now ready to deploy all these Chromebooks. I am very grateful to everyone that has taken their time to help:0)
  18. I have just found a user setting that controls how the device is put back :0)
  19. Just double checking the device settings before handing all these Chromebooks out, and wanted to make sure I have 'Auto enrolment' setup properly and that I understand how it works. So I think it works like this for 'Forced re enrolment with user credentials. Provided I (the admin) have initially logged into the Chromebook and provisioned them, if a pupil then wipes their Chromebook the auto enrolment will kick in and re enrol it, but also leave the device in my 'Devices' OU I have crated. I think one of the other options moves the device to the users OU, which I really don't want.
  20. @DGardiner - Just had a look at the Web Painter app in one of your screen shots. Now this might be a very handy little app, gives everyone the ability to draw or add text to any webpage. Cheers Think I might start a new post tomorrow - Must have Chrome / Android apps for school use.
