    AMD Laptops?

From what i remember, AMD computers usually come with ATI graphics. ATI graphics used to cause me headaches with drivers and ATI control panel
  2. Make sure you are applying the vlan/ipconfig that was applying to port 23/24 now to the trk1 port
  3. Whats the size of your mandatory profile? Do you have any file screens applied to the folder redirection locations? Any errors in event log? Time outs or unable to access etc
  4. Its good to make any needed plugins "click to run" to stop hidden inline frame malicious applets running as well as any compromised adverts. IPS and Air Gapped backups too.
  5. Yeah, had same issue. Recreating the shortcut fixes the issue. Had about 10 users affected. Putting it down to windows update related as we seem to see it after last updates rolled out. Chrome version does not seem to matter
  6. Never use snapshot backups with dc's. Restoring like this can cause sync issues. Only ever use systemstate backup for AD, and then do an authoritative or non-authoritative restore depending on your situation.
  7. This just means it is looking at its self as a dns server. What setting is the ipv4 address? 127.0.0.1? Shouldnt cause any issues. Can disable ipv6 and change ipv4 to anther dns server if it is causing issues
  8. I take it the server is a dns server? Is it causing any issues?
  9. ::1 just means localhost. Ipv6 version of 127.0.01
  10. Tested on all dc's?. Are they all global catalog servers? If not, is the infrastructure master fsmo role on a gc server?
  11. Have you checked repadmin /showrepl /all /verbose? Looking like it might be replication issue
  12. Are you getting similar issues running dcdiag on other dc's?
  13. Have you tried knoppix? This is for this sort of task
  14. Take it you have temporarily disabled windows firewall on dc's and retried to see if this is the cause?
  15. Hp do have their own certification track, but cisco is a much more desired cert for future. Most commands, technologies are very similar, often just a different wording. I too work with hp all day and i did cisco certs, helped me out alot.
  16. I would look at ccna and mcse for a network manager. 1st half of the ccna is very much getting to know ip addresses, subneting and routing. Most of the cisco commands are easily translated to other manufacturers like hp. Msca/mcse will give you the server side of things. Look at cbt nuggets for self study
  17. We went for mendIT cover, sure it was nowhere near that. Will check tomorrow if needed. On our first lot of pro 3's, we went without cover. These are now out of warranty and microsoft is still exchanging damaged devices free of charge. They even send the replacement out 1st and give us 30days to return broken one
  18. CD drives are an issue due to the underpowered usb ports are not powerful enough for them. I tried to buy the old type of external cd drives with the power cable but cannot buy these any more. Only option was to put a Y usb cable on the cd drive to get power from another source. I ended up ripping most cd's used by depts which they now perfer
  19. All of our staff have surface pro 3's. Just have a neoprene slip case, nothing attached. Use original microsoft rj45 connectors, not 3rd party as only originals support pxe
  20. Defiantly sounds like a waiting and timing out issue. Check event logs see if its showing what it eventually fails to access. Check your gp preferences, these can sometimes be the cause of slow logins. How bigs the user profile being pulled down? I once had 30mins login times. I had blocked ini files from being allowed in students home drives using file screening. (Thought it was a way of everyones home drives just being called "documents" on server and thought they have no valid reason for needing them) When computers logged in, they were trying to create the desktop.ini file on their home drives and were disallowed causing the 30min logons! Long shot, but another idea
  21. You would use the manufacturer provisioning disc to load drivers 1st, this will then prompt for windows disc. Then restore backup during windows installation
  22. ITIL is the most recognised and widely used. Dont think the certs expire either so would be 1st port of call. Could compliment this with prince?
  23. Well done!
  24. Check the sql database instance is running on server. Had this once, this was cause
  25. How about these Mfr Part #: F4N54AA We use the full desktop version on our usdt's and kensington lock them in place
