Slowly dawning on me that we need to reimage all ours. There's 150 listed on the support portal but the DFE said we have 124 restricted devices so assume SLT ordered the wrong ones at some point!!

This is what we are pondering too. When they are used in School, they have to log in via Smoothwall for access. They are quite completely off the network. However there's nothing in place for when they take them home. SLT plan is to give them out again from September onwards rather than keep them in School. -
Has anyone had the DFE email today saying they want to know how many laptops have been sorted? I'm still in two minds what to do with ours.

The control panel is still there though, which to me defeats the object of moving to a completely new version. They had a chance to get rid of it once and for all and merge it with Settings. Unless that comes later.

Yeah my only issue with 2004 is that support is only until November this year I think? I was hoping to wait until 21H2 came out to jump everyone to that but it looks like I'll be rolling out more updates before hand. Quite annoying.

Hi all In the last couple of weeks, whenever I have checked for updates on individual machines that run 1909 Education, it is now telling me it is downloading the feature update to 2004. Has anyone else seen this? In GPO, I had feature updates delayed by 365 days. I assume because it's been a year since 2004, it's now wanting to update individual machines whenever updates are manually checked? Does anyone know if this can be extended indefinitely?

Do you have Impero? I find it causes hang ups on login/log out sometimes so I have to restart the service remotely on that machine.

I ran the 21H1 update from MDT (after converting the esd to a wim and importing it straight to MDT) through an upgrade task and it seems to have done the trick easily.

It's always seemed to be that way as I think filming for each series is stretched over a few months

I've just had the email about licensing expiring on these devices and data stopping on the routers. Did all laptops come with Intune? I've not seen one for ages. We personally don't user intune at School however I'm sure all the laptops we got were standard local/admin user?

It's always boggled the mind how Teachers don't get disciplinaries for the simplest of actions, especially as its safeguarding. We have the same teachers doing not registers over and over again and they never get pulled up on it even when we catch them lying by saying SIMS isn't working when it is.

They should be asking their IT surely rather than frantically emailing you? I guess it's like you said it's some captive portal that isn't forwarding
