The only two I've played this year that I can think that are deserving of Game of the Year are Super Mario Odyssey and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The only one I’ve played is Golf Story. Not sure if your kids would like it but it’s a silly story-driven golf game in a sort of RPG style where you’re doing random tasks using golf.

As a bass player, I can recommend Ibanez as great starting basses. The GSR range are set out as more affordable for beginners but they are really decent hardware, and are highly rated. I have the GSR 180 and really enjoy playing it. As for buying myself a Christmas present, I won't this year as I've already bought myself far too much stuff. However, birthday in January might be a different story

Hi all, Looking for suggestions here as I know very little about Android. We have a pupil who, as part of an EHCP, requires an internet device to allow them to look up words to find pictures to aid with comprehension. We don't have wireless network access throughout the school so we were hoping we could use a device with access to mobile data. I initially suggested an iPad with a SIM card but this was ruled out on cost grounds. I've been suggested to look into cheap Android phones/tablets but I don't know how easy these are to lock down. Our main concerns are particularly with phones and stopping calls/text message functions on it. Can anyone recommend effective ways to lock Android down to do very specific tasks? Thanks in advance!

I'll have to look into that one, the Donington collection is another on my list too! What was unique about Red Bull's hall of fame was the lack of rope/fences. We were free to take as many pictures as we wanted, get up as close as we liked as long as we didn't touch the cars! And all of the cars are fitted as raced so no secrets hidden. I think that's why the only rule was "no photos of the back of the 2016 RB12 and the cockpit" as it's close in design to the current car.

Of course! I just couldn't resist! But yes, I don't think LMP1 is on Ferrari's radar, as much as that would be cool. Somehow I don't think they'd like the idea of being forced to take on hybrid technology but having to compete with privateer teams without it.

Funny you should say that, because Ferrari took the GT FIA World Endurance Constructors' Championship yesterday in the WEC.

There is one problem with raising the rev limit on these engines. The current limit is 15,000 RPM but teams run no higher than around 12,000 because torque is so high on them that they don't really need the full range and also keeps under the fuel flow limits easier. So by that, even if they're allowed to run up to 18,000 RPM why would they?

I'm a self-confessed petrolhead but I'm glad things like this are starting to happen. We need to really push to produce vehicles that use cleaner energy and do something to improve the air quality in places like London which is well over the EU's limits on this. In fact, cleaning up the air needs to happen sooner than 2040.

Sorry, what I meant by that is that putting something on a current car isn't necessarily representative of what it would actually be like as part of a car designed with it in mind. There was some suggestion that Vettel's blurriness with the shield was down to vibrations, which may be less of an issue if the screen is built into the chassis.

That and I'd imagine that just bolting a temporary device on top of a chassis is very different to having something built in.

That could be a problem. It's manageable in sports cars and prototypes but it's probably because of the philosophy behind the tyre manufacturing and design, plus that drivers are used to driving on cooler tyres at various points. I'd imagine Pirelli would need to produce something less sensitive to losing temperatures to make it work. I'm sure it would be possible to do it for a sector or two. WEC establishes slow zones at standard circuits and while they don't get used often, they are an option for Race Control. Usually these are a series of corners or a straight. At Silverstone, for example, there were six zones set up, although full course yellows were only used. It is easier to do at Le Mans as there's plenty of time for warning. I'd imagine the system could work much the same way as Le Mans, "Next Slow" zones in the run up to the "Slow" Zones. It'd probably require a bit of retraining on the drivers' part to anticipate these and slow down safely and appropriately but I'm sure they could manage it.

Yep, it was probably because of the need for a clear gap for the marshals (who, I have to say weren't that great this weekend) that the Safety Car came out to give them a big clear gap to work in. One change I'd like to see implemented is perhaps having the Safety Car extinguish its lights a little later in the lap at Baku, perhaps just into the long stretch towards the finish line from turn 16 to prevent things like this happening again, as the lead car needs to go even slower to let the Safety Car get down to the pit lane in time as happened in the GP2 race last year, hence why Lewis took turn 15 so slowly. I'd still prefer to see VSC turned to ACO rules of being a fixed speed. Sure, F1 fans wouldn't like seeing the cars trundling around at relatively slow speeds but it makes things much safer for the marshals, plus keeps all the existing gaps between cars.

Decided after missing out on the NES Classic that I wasn't going to sit around for this one. Managed by sheer luck after many failed attempts to put a preorder in with Game for one about 11:30 last night! I just hope it means I do actually get one...

I'd second resetting the SMC and checking the fan for dust probably isn't a bad idea either.

A few from my now annual April visit (4th year in a row!) to Silverstone for the World Endurance Championship & European Le Mans Series double header. Quite pleased with these, you can definitely see the progress of improvement if you look at my albums from these events for the past few years.

Technically, cases for the original iPad Air should fit, but volume button placement is different with this model to the Air as it has removed the physical lock switch. I'd imagine it won't be long before manufacturers start bringing out cases specifically designed for it.

Hi all, Saw recent thread about MySQL but I'm looking for more info on SQLite as I've been told by our ICT teachers that they now need it for various courses. Of course, I don't really know much about it and, as always with these things, the only thing I really get given by the teachers is the instruction to do it because "It's the recommended version for schools as it's free to use" [Citation needed!] and a time of when they expect it done by. From what I've seen so far, it all looks to be self-contained exes. Regarding security, is there anything I should look out for, or is it fairly harmless to allow it to run for students? Thanks!

I'm thinking a switch to World Endurance Championship is on the cards for Alonso. He's been on about Le Mans for a few years now. In fact, I think there may even have been talks last year of him getting a drive with Porsche's LMP1 project.
