Hi, Currently migrating our Sophos Enterprise Console from a old 2003 server. On the guide it's wanting me to do a backup of the database. I need to run a command prompt from the installation folder (C:\Program Files\Sophos\Enterprise Console) but it wont let me!!! It will let me on windows 7 of course but that's no help!! I've spent ages trawling through google with no help. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks!!

Hi, Any help would be greatly appreciated as everything I read seems to be contradictive and my supplier inst helping much either!!! Currently in the process of obtaining quotes for a new server with the purchase of Server 2012 R2 as were currently on 2008 R2. The school has approximately 100 devices that would be on the domain plus a further 100 mobile devices such as iPads. There is approximately 125 staff in the school - not all do access the network though. There is me and another technician that will directly access the server. How many CALs do I need? Do I need 2 for me and the tech that will be directly accessing the server? Do I need CALs for all the users? Do I need CALs for all the devices? Help!! Thanks!

Mine is giving an error. Is this an internal problem with my system or is this a whole 365 problem? It will be very interesting to see the accounts as the Head is ultra keen on EVERY staff member checking their emails on a regular basis.

Used it at my old school. Nothing but problems. Glad to see the back of it! The tutors are 'home based' so they have a standard internet connection so there was always connection issued. Constantly lagged. Kids weren't impressed either!!

Hi, Im from a SEN school so deffo could bounce some ideas off with each other. It is something we are currently looking at. How many printers do you have throughout the school? We have 9 colour laser printers currently and our toner and paper bill is about 5k a year. Whats yours? The problem is the ethos of the staff as taking the print as much as you want anytime you want away from them wouldnt make us popular!!

Hi, Looking at implementing a new wireless system at our school. We currently run a apple airport system (dont laugh!) Have looked at a fair few options and spoken with quite a few resellers but can't seem to make a choice one way or another - options mainly considering are the high spec Rukus, Xirrus down to a more budget version of Netgear system. From surveys we have had it has been suggested that 12 AP's along with some new switch replacements should do the job. Could anyone recommend which avenue we should go down and what price we should be looking to pay for the whole hardware, config and installation as we are getting very different prices each time round! help appreciated as always, Thank you!

Sounds a great idea, think would take a big script though especially to get the password syncro all aligned. Let me know how you get on with this!

No the server 2003 is still running AD - it has partially been migrated to another 2008r2 server. Would you completey migrate AD and decommission the exchange server?

Yeah - the only GPO policies in place are pushing out the printers. Unless its hidden somewhere theres nothing obvious I can see.. Any other suggestions?

Hi techies!! Help needed! Relatively new to the school - running a very old 2003 exchange system which single signs on the user to their emails into Outlook 2007. We're currently in process of going to a new system with a new domain - Office 365 and Outlook 2013. having major problems, having to delete the profile before it will let them open Outlook 2013. After then it still wants to connect to the old email because of the single sign on facility i think. Does anyone have any suggestions or help as to how i can stop/disable this? Thanks in advance (relatively new to posting on here!)
