Does it need a server or run off a teacher PC? How do you push out the config?

We had similar experience, cheap laptops don't seem to cope too well being left on a lot, or being used much really. Usually try stick with Dell or HP now for laptops where possible, bit dearer but they've always been more reliable and lived longer, so when you factor in total cost of ownership, they can scale with the cheap stuff.

All night or timed charge at night?

Are the charging trolleys on timers? Some laptops don't cope well with being plugged in 24/7 so this can drastically reduce their life.

I asked this and it was something along the lines of that once a connection has been established, it works on a peer to peer type system when on the same network.

We've just bought some for some new rooms, they do come with a new bracket but if you want me to measure out the holes or want any pictures before I put them up, just let me know

I must say the fire drill part may be a little bit picky, if a teacher is stood away from their PC, at the board say, teaching, their priority when that alarm sounds is ensuring the pupils and themselves leave the building as quickly and safely as possible, if a PC is unlocked, so be it, there may be sensitive info but also lives at risk. Even if it's a drill, it has to be treated as real life, hence why we are told to leave any objects and get out as safely and quickly as we can.

It's just not as friendly with staff and I can totally relate, they had something, we've took it away and the replacement makes their jobs a bit more difficult. We've tried the groups, separate browsers, separate profiles, Outlook just seems to do the job best for what our staff ask, just need to work out how to deploy it, but this mailspring could be a nice alternative!

DPFs have a life span and only regenerate on longer journeys when the car reaches a certain temperature and speed. I don't think by any means he's going out saying buy a car that's bad for the environment, but more that if you're on a budget, just look out for things like DPFs, because when they go wrong, especially on cheaper/older cars which fit the budget, one failing could effectively write the car off.

It's multiple mailboxes too, so reception staff for example have several email accounts they need to monitor which is easy to do in Outlook. Distribution lists aren't an option either as it's more difficult to keep a track on whether someone has already replied to an email.

Personally, for a work/business environment, I don't think so. We use GMail and coming from Outlook, it doesn't feel as good in the browser. I have notifications switched on too, but that seems to be hit and miss as to whether they actually pop up or not. Have been looking into pushing out the GMail settings for Outlook for staff to use, but this could maybe be an easier alternative!

I'd say so, they're still producing diesel cars and it'll be a long way off before they get rid of the older ones seeing as they seem to just live forever. I've got a 2007 A3 PD170 DSG, done 20,000 miles in it so far this year, mixed driving style and conditions and it's been great, I tend to average over 50mpg a tank too. If I were spending £1k on a car though, I probably would be looking for something with a VAG PD engne in it (Passat/Golf/Bora/Leon/Ibiza/Fabia/Lupo..), they just seem to soldier on.

What is your budget? The Golf MK4 Diesels can be picked up for around £1k for a tidy one now, the reliable PD130 engine, 6 speed boxes, good economy and relatively cheap parts/maintenance as they're so common and there's always some in scrappers too. Or if size isn't an issue, the Lupo/Arosa TDI/SDIs are £30 to tax, less than £1k to buy and stupidly good on fuel and cheap to repair.

FreshDesk offer a free cloud version and you could easily make it work and it's simple to use. We used it with no issues, you can create rules and what not too to filter the groups. I love it personally, it's simple for us but effective.

The cost of someone coming in for 12 months would be very high. Would you not be better putting forward a case to high a couple of apprentices or an ICT Tech to help you with the day to day jobs so then you can focus on the bigger things like the upgrades? That's a lot of people and devices to look after single handed.

It was a couple years ago now, but it could be find in the menu with the master remote (we had teacher remotes with limited functions) Failing that, you could always just disconnect the motor if you can't find the setting?

We had mirror doors die on our Hitachis, but there is a setting to keep them open, so this stops the motor activating and we just persuaded the door open and then it stayed open, worked a treat and saved us splashing out on a new unit. It's a bit gimmicky anyway the whole door thing on these.

It's funny because ours were Hitachi and did the same thing, honestly worked a dream when we used original lamps, but they were pricey.
