It is quite sad, but true, the last couple major releases we have had issues, they get corrected for the most part but it never seems to 'just work' anymore.

You sadly can't change the domain or rename CC4 machines, this is due to the way the RM Management console ties in with AD, it doesn't like changes inb AD that aren't done via the Console, hence why RM removed this functionality. Regarding MDT, if you need to get online quickly, it may be easier to just create a fat image for now and fling it out. Or, you could just deploy a blank image and use the PDQ Deploy trial to fire out the apps after. Best of luck!

There's some tweaks in the Chrome GPOs you can amend to stop this happening. Google are dropping support for Flash, we are getting 'Flash player out of date' on some sites now. The joys of Flash.

If you pay off what you spend within in the month there should be no interest. They can be a good way to boost your credit as it's essentially a way of proving you're good at borrowing. Apparently though, having a credit card and not using it can also affect credit badly as backwards as that sounds. (Not sure how true it is, but has been said by a few people) But that being said, is there anything you need to boost your credit score for and have you checked what your existing score is?

NComputing or Thin Clients could reduce power consumption as a whole when using more machines/terminals. We use i5 intel NUCs. At idle they use around 5w and whenat full load (which is rare) around 45w. A lot less then the old clunky RM machines they replaced!

It's a difficult one. I've been looking and for around £14k, I could get two Dell Servers, each with 16x960GB Enterprise SSDs, 128GB RAM and 8C/16T CPU instead of a Cluster setup. With Veeam and the VMs spread carefully between the 2 hosts or even replication, it could be cheaper and faster than a cluster setup. There are pros and cons to each, SANs can be expensive, but the benefits could be better. Your best bet is write up the different options, costs, pros and cons and put it towards the school and let them decide which they think will work best for them.

I've been looking at this route. There are a lot of things to consider and I favour the TVs, the long term cost is less of a projector, for us at least: Interactive screen: -One off cost -All in one solution -Zero maintenance -Long warranties -Brighter picture in highly lit/open spaces -Full HD -Look a lot nicer too -Easier to install -Est 7 Year life span Projectors: -More expensive for Full HD -More costly to install -Est 4 year life span -Ongoing cost for lamps, filters, cleaning/compressed air -Multiple objects required to make a full interactive system in some cases We worked out over 7 years, a screen would be a lower cost, require almost zero maintenance (mostly will be user error), better warranties and an over better experience for staff. BenQ 65" Panels are £1500exVAT, chuck in £200 for fitting and a bracket it's totting in at just over £1700. And as I said, long term, in 7 years you'd likely be on the 2nd projector.

We name students machines by name and number, staff laptops by first initial, surname then -LT. Class PCs are TPC-RoomName But to be honest it's what's best for you and your team. I also think before naming something, if I'm not here, will whoever else is be able to understand it easy enough? Good naming saves hassle and makes life easy!

Any bandwidth management in place? Limiting client connections and download speeds for certain IPs can make a big difference, worth a go before splashing the cash.

When this happened to one of our units where I used to work, I went into the settings and changed it so the door would always remain open, nice easy fix.

If I'm right, they may have removed this a while ago as it was a security flaw and easy to exploit, so they got rid. Could be wrong, but I'm sure that's why.
