I'd get the 1.9 as I imagine it'd be a PD engine and they're bulletproof, generally really strong and if you want more power, this is easily achieved by a remap. Great on fuel too, regardless of how heavy your right foot is.

I've built a few small office based servers, all chugging along fine with basic RAID config, NAS HDDs and consumer CPUs and Mobos. As for anything mission critical prior to VMs being as easy and cheap as they now are, I would have said bad idea for warranty and support purposes. Now though, given how easy clustering is and migrating VMs, I can see it working out better value for money and even provide better redundancy. It's actually got me thinking now!

Cloud probably have something that would do the job. Something like the Cloud MA60 perhaps?

Don't know if it's just luck, but MDT with all our hardware seems to just boot and image without adding drivers to the boot files! Was the best thing ever deciding to use MDT, easy to set up and much easier to use than WDS on its own.

I once went to a PC in a High School that wouldn't power on, turns out someone had stolen the motherboard, CPU, RAM and HDD. Probably explains why it wouldn't power on.

You sure it's RAM that's the issue, how much do they have now? If it's 4GB, I'd say an SSD will probably prove a better purchase and as stated above, much easier to fit than you think.

If BenQ has a 1080p Projector with 2200 Lumens brightness and a good throw distance for around £400 exVAT I'd definitely be interested! As said, we are fine with RTB warranties and with genuine lamps for £80 which are shared with their Business line, I can't see where we are going to go wrong! So far I think the decision has been made to go with these!

Spoke to the supplier on the phone, the only real difference they could point out is warranty! Whiles 'Business' grade projectors may benefit from next day warranty (next equivalent is nearly 2x price), the 'Home' grade will still be covered, but as a RTB (Return To base) warranty. We're perfectly fine with this as we always stock cold spares of things, especially projectors, so at this point, I really can't see any reason this projector won't be suitable!

Cheers, I'm waiting for the supplier to open to see their reasoning. Personally I can't see why it wouldn't last, especially with Epson being one of the leading brands. I'll also try find the warranty for any clauses as they come with 1 year for the lamp (which is rated 7,500 hours!) and 3 years on the actual machine.

We have been looking at the Epson TW5210 Projectors for install in school, having already ordered one and it's now been fitted and running perfect for a month now, but our supplier has turned round to us and stated the lamp life won't be as good of that as a 'Business' grade projector and we will lose our lamp warranty Here's why I think he's wrong, upon skimming through the manual, I check the lamp model number to discover it is actually also used in their 'Business' class projectors. Now are they trying to get me to unnecessarily spend more or are there reasons I shouldn't buy this unit? Has anyone else used 'Home' projectors in schools before? Cheers!

Honestly, I think unless they're very IT savvy, it'll over complicate things. Best budget rig to build at the moment would be an i3/5, GTX660 and an SSD. That wouldn't struggle with anything, plus it's much cheaper than the server equivalent.

Design and Tech are usually helpful for stuff like this, they make have something similar or can whip you up something. In the past, I've just longer screws, washers and a straight piece of metal!

Hi all. Currently setting up papercut but the way I need it to work is a bit specific and I haven't quite got my head round it, so any help is appreciated! I need to bill Staff by department, wherever they print in the school. When students print, it needs to bill the department they have printed in. What's the best of way of achieving this? Thanks!

Checked it isn't on Eco mode? Also passive VGA splitters and some rubbish active splitters can cause issues like this

I could maybe save them from scrap and put them to use, but as for the money side, the school they'd go to are very strapped for cash

Checked the BIOS and made sure it only chooses the GPU? And you can actually use onboard and PCIe graphics (at least with intel) I've been doing it for years
