SIMS database was already set on compatibility mode, but PARS wasn't changed it this morning and started to get reports that it appears quicker.

We have exactly the same issue, staff are reporting that both are slow and we had the upgrade over summer. Be good if you could feedback if the above has helped in anyway.

I applied the first time they advertised this role, got an email saying they didn't get a large enough field of candidates. But would carry my application forward for when they re-advertised it again. Its interesting reading your comments about the school I always find it worth while knowing about the background of any school I am applying for.

Pupils creating fake Twitter/Facebook Accounts for staff
ticker replied to flyinghaggis's topic in General Chat
We had this quite recently with Twitter, they way we nailed the students who had done it was to see who the followers where or who they had followed. That's how we tracked it back and one of the students eventually talked. -
Me and Ric would like to thank all that came to meeting 03 yesterday at Park Hall. We understand its a busy time of year but it was great to meet up with both new and existing members. It was another interesting and entertaining meeting with relevant speakers and suppliers. Onwards towards meeting 04 on June 25th. Pictures from the day can be found on the twitter feed or on the website Meeting 03 | Association of Network Managers in Education ANME

I've been looking in to this as well and a local company are offering to back up 7 servers, with data not totaling more than 1TB into the cloud. They then say they can restore your virtual servers and present them in the cloud for users to access in any location in the event of a disaster. Though as above the price tag for this is just short of the 2 grand mark.

Just two weeks to go to the third ANME meeting at Park Hall Chorley, we still have places available. If you have had the email then register via the Eventbrite invite. We have both Impero, Sophos and KMD recycling as guest speakers as well as running various workshops in the afternoon. I will also once again have a slot and be on my soapbox dispensing invaluable advise! You should just come along for that alone! Details are on the website here http://www.anme.co.uk/companies. If you haven't joined yet the link is here http://www.anme.co.uk/join.

Interesting how in the 2009 salary scale they had a ICT Network Manager at grade 8, yet fast forward to 2015 and it's not there.

We have just moved over to them from our LEA, (well in April) we had a trial of their services and were very impressed with the support, response times and just general willingness to help. Our Assistant head and new data manger have also had some on-site training and they could not have been more complementary about the training and the trainers knowledge and understanding. I know a lot of the Leeds/Bradford schools use them.

Room booking system from school cloud systems Room Booking System - Online Room Booking Software We had a paper based system for booking various rooms and resources. The fact its web based and hosted by them mean staff can access anytime, anywhere. Even the most negative member of staff when i first introduced it, now says it makes bookings easier.

@sonofsanta, when he means down south we are referring to anything where it is south of Manchester!!!! On a serious note we are looking at certain areas of the county with the Midlands being one of the areas.
-
We also use CPOMS, we even use it to report incidents captured by impero.
-
@fiza, yes it is. If we can get enough members in a particular area then we could maybe put on a meeting. I know we have been offered the use of meeting space by a vendor near the London area. @AButters, we did spend many an hour before deciding on the current name and something that could be shorted quite easily. @witch, we welcome everybody from primary to FE. I know we've had a few primary techs attend the first meetings. Like you say we all face the same kind of issues just sometime on different scales and the main aim of the ANME is to get colleagues to network face to face and share ideas and good practice. @LiamH, never say never. First Lancashire next the world!!! Having just posted this i noticed @RichCowell had beaten me to the punch.
