Also, it'll be dangerous from a catering companies point of view (beyond DPA), if you have 1 parent order, you've got to deliver a meal regardless if anyone else orders, which isn't going to be profitable, can you imagine if you couldn't get hold of them to confirm you've cancelled their order? It'll be in the front cover of the newspapers with how you left this poor child hungry despite taking the money from some hard working single mother, you'd have Jamie Oliver waiting on your doorstep waiting to take you away to feed to his mate Jimmy's pigs.

Sorry, School pays catering company, not the parents. All catering company knows is they deliver 30 hot meals, 1 being veggie, no idea who it was that ate it (or didn't). School collects money from parents, if they want to accept card payments, they buy in a solution. Make sense?

Personally I'm not sure you've done a lot of market research into the area - it's almost like you've read an article about Universal infant free school meals and thought, hey, what about the other years? How can they pay? Thing is, this isn't a new thing. Pupils have had school meals for years and years and there are a number of established suppliers with mature products that can improve a manual cash only process. So I guess my question is, what's your unique selling point?

One for @David_Grashoff perhaps? Didn't Capita change the label in FMS from SIMS .net settings to MIS settings? Makes it sound like you can interface with FMS from other systems (like DoubleFirst ) . I know some of the exports are free, but you have to pay for a license to import so no idea how that works with regards to a API\interface.

Logon to SIMS, the hit the documentation button and it'll take you off to magically land of nod, I mean, the Capita documentation centre. Something to do with the fact if the Guest has 8 vCPU it has to wait for 8 threads to be physically available, which will be less likely then 4.

Look at the documentation, lesson reg or something. There is a section about archiving attendance marks, you have to select which years you wish to archive then run a command line (obs run out of hours as it canes the disc).

This isn't a IT problem, IT is just a tool. MDM etc would be like have a fire extinguishers and fire alarms, they won't stop fires. They're all pointless if they aren't actually used correctly, ie monitored. Let's face it, if it came up and blocked it, what's the chances the teacher would have put in a call to IT to unblock it? It's hard to point the finger without all the facts, it's easy enough to blame the school as that's where it happened, far as we know they have raised it months ago with social services and they've done nothing. They could be on Essex LA broadband (E2BN), they could have a unfiltered standard BT connection. We don't know. All we know is a number of things have happened that could of been prevented it from happening. IE proper classroom monitoring by staff (again, no IT application\service\device can solve this, it can make easier, that's it). Also regarding comments about the Daily Mail, it's a tabloid, what do you expect.

Would suggest asking for support teams who migrate SIMS for you otherwise you'll move across alot of legacy stuff, unless you fancy reading through 5 years of Capita release notes and try and decrypt them - ie I don't need this any more.

@ReBoot - Is this re: E2BN \ SchoolsChoice? ie this - Installing ProtexRootCA certificates If so, they only do it for Google because Google has withdrawn the NoSSL option. No other sites are affected. Data will be encrypted from Google > E2BN, then it will be re-encrypted with another key from E2BN > School\End User. It's basically how CloudFlare does it, only they don't have to encrypt from CloudFlare to the end server.

One isn't really the problem. It's when you get a bit of a email exchange going on and each person includes a full signature and a full disclaimer. I've had emails forwarded on and the content is about 4 lines but the actual email would go on for pages and pages just because of the junk someone feels they must add to every email. Government orgs are particularly bad as are any company that deals with them. Really we need a meta fields dedicated to disclaimers, signatures (name etc)

My bad. But point still remains. Business "ID" is one thing, disclaimers is another. One is common sense and required, the other is meanless nonsense that is seen to be "legal and required" "ID" as in address, contact, company reg no, VAT no, etc.

The link is for Limited companies. Nothing about sole traders, schools etc. It's one thing to give your business\schools details, that's common sense, school names tend to get duplicated across the country, its logical to confirm which one you are. Its another to include a load of disclaimers - like "Emails sent to and from this organisation will be monitored in accordance with the law" or "No virus found in this message."
