We used it for about a year, before COVID we used it a bit but now we are using it constantly. Everything linked in, OneNote, Files etc.

If you create a MS Team it creates a Sharepoint site for that Team. Teams has tons of other benefits such as calling etc also!

Moving away from non-domain teaching laptops
DalekSec replied to icemonkey's topic in How do you do....it?
No issues with them having laptops if they are setup correctly; On Domain and managed (Intune is a must if it's going to be off the network for prolonged periods of time), Everything in their user area saved to OneDrive (Can redirect the folders) and most importantly NO ADMIN RIGHTS AND BITLOCKERED!!! I've not worked in a school that has desktops instead of laptops, i can see a few plus points to Desktops but Laptops for me will always be better for teaching staff (If setup correctly obviously!) -
We've had an issue where WFH users don't have admin rights and our don't work as they are off the network and the local admin user doesn't work (a mistake i made in setup!), managed to push out a local admin user via Intune and then can remote on and use that!
-
Are you Azure AD joined devices in Intune also? If not then you will have to add them in, if they are remote devices you will most likely have to do them manually. We pushed out a GP a week before lockdown so managed to get the vast majority onto Intune before they went off site. Then the few that weren't we had to remote on, setup a VPN and run gpupdate to get them into Intune.

Lord Bath of Longleat Dies from Coronavirus, Aged 87
DalekSec replied to 6Foot2's topic in General Chat
I grew up in Warminster (town next to Longleat) always heard storys and myths about him, he will be missed -
iirc SCCM is being renamed Endpoint Manager and it's a mixture of Intune and SCCM. Which SCCM already is as it has some Intune features in it already. I don't know the licensing side of Intune, it doesn't require a Server to run on.
-
Simplest term is it's Intune. You're right it's not as power as SCCM yet but they are building it up constantly. We've recently moved all our mobile workstations to Intune from SCCM. We only really use SCCM now for suites and image deployments.

We found the issue... if you can call it that..... after looking into it for an hour or so. Turns out my Manager forgot to assign it to a group!!! Assigned it and it worked.

Hi All, We currently have an issue where staff working from home need support, we remote on with Quick Assist but cannot use our admin rights. As when a UAC prompt pops up it blanks the screen. We thought this might be down to a setting in Intune, i found this article and gave it a shot: https://www.theexperienceblog.com/2019/10/24/fixing-uac-elevation-when-remote-controlling-via-quick-assist-or-teamviewer-etc/ but no dice.... Teamviewer also doesn't work even with using the advanced setting with our windows login. Anyone been able to get admin rights over a remote connection working? Cheers Dalek
