Not without seeing the source code and style sheets for the footer... or at the least a hint of what specific theme you're working with.

It's chucking a Javascript error in their implementation of a React handler as soon as you hit enter after inputting a search term... "Error: Filepicker: Start search should not be called with a provider that does not support search" Essentially, broken at MS' end. Nothing you can do. See https://outlook.uservoice.com/forums/907141-the-new-outlook-on-the-web-office-365/suggestions/36769951-search-doesn-t-work-in-new-outlook

The blown part is L9000 FERR-250-OHM ferrite bead inductor / choke. Whack L9000 into the topright search field at https://www.scribd.com/document/398541208/820-2828-iMac-27-Mid-2011-model-A1312 and it'll take you to the schematic for the DP POWER connector... size: 0603 Impedance @ 100 MHz: 220 Ω rated current: 1.4 A tolerance ±: 25 % size: 1.6 x 0,.8mm Original p/n: Murata BLM18PG221SN1D Mouser electronics should stock a suitable replacement that should be fairly simple enough to solder back in place by someone with steady hands and a suitable iron & tip. However, doesn't reveal why it popped or whether replacing it will work... a replacement may just explode straight away also depending on the cause (usually a short).

Moodle database read error post migration

Are you certain about that MySQL version? MySQL 7 is specifically used for MySQL Cluster. General Release MySQL Community Server leaps from 5.x directly to 8.x. Under MySQL 8.0.2, GROUPS is now a reserved word so can’t be used in queries without either being wrapped in backticks first, or alternatively referenced using table.column_name notation, therefore, Moodle 3.6 doesn’t yet support latest MySQL 8. This would explain the issue you’re experiencing fully, and trigger the exact error you’re seeing (hence check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'groups g,... which implies the issue is with the use of the word groups in the query) Solution: Downgrade MySQL to the latest minor version of 5.x (5.7.25) -

Who manages your Stage/production AV?
Marci replied to SChurchill's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
Issues may arise having students do it - so be warned... eg: turning strobes on for a laugh unexpectedly / accidentally without having strobe warning signs up, pushing noise levels too loud for system (physical damage) / local noise controls (environmental), switching radio mics onto licensed channels... there's legal liability involved for an engineer running a sound or lighting rig, and a student generally isn’t able to accept this liability so it will pass to whoever risk-assessed having a student perform the task and decided to approve it, raising questions on whether the student was suitably trained. This means whoever performs the risk-assessment needs to be aware of what training is needed and what those legal liabilities may be. Ditto any staff putting themselves in the position of sound / lighting engineer for a show. Anyone involved in handling sound / lighting within a school should, as a bare minimum, make themselves aware of HSE published guidance via HSG260 (http://www.hse.gov.uk/pUbns/priced/hsg260.pdf), and be familiar with general Events Safety guidance (Events health and safety) The above info can be handy for justifying formalising any arrangements onto your Job Description and ensuring you’re paid suitably for the level of knowledge and responsibility required, and that you can attend any training / keep up to date on regs (such as use of radio mic frequencies), otherwise it just serves to devalue the role of Sound / Lighting engineer... and can also be used to justify why someone may NOT want the responsibility, should it be forced onto IT. -
Wordpress - Change wordpress post background by Category.
Marci replied to Theldron's topic in Web Development
The category slug should be appended as a class to the html node for each post (assuming your theme uses nodes), in the format 'category-[category-slug]', thus allowing you to target post categories using article.category-[category-slug] via css. -
If you’ve got a meter with rotors, usually the 0 point on the dial is magnetic, so a reed switch will close when 0 clicks round on the far right rotor. Hook reed switch up to Pi GPIO, knock up a python script to watch for interrupts on that pin, which then increments counters (lifetime & daily, stored in flat file or dbase), do whatever maths needed to convert pulse to w/kw, then fire the figure to the relevant http endpoint for whichever device in domoticz that needs to be updated via the Domoticz API to give you total usage, daily usage, monthly usage etc. For realtime use via this method, closest you can usually get is pulses in last x-minutes converted to watts - you determine the x when you write your script. Or you can get a currentcost meter, clamp it on to your meter and read it from there which is more on-the-ball. If you haven’t got rotors, you can watch the flashing LED on the meter instead with an IR transceiver and count pulses of that instead via same method. If you haven’t got LED, do have rotors, but rotor doesn’t have magnetic 0, then usually the 0’s background is reflective so you can use an IR LED and transceiver and pick up the reflection to make the pulse instead. S’all covered in domoticz.com forums somewhere. Old bodged revision of the pulse counter script I used with my gas meter, fire script up on boot & leave running: https://github.com/PatchworkBoy/gaspulse/blob/master/gaspulse

Can also use a Kinect to map as a 3D pointcloud (rgb-depthkit style) and haul into (unity etc) to produce FPS-style walkthrus. Only ever done myself non-interactively with Cinema4D instead of a game engine. No matter how you approach it's either complex / labour intensive, or expensive (bring in a 3rd party to do it).

Personally, a mix and match of whatever was affordable (read: cheap)... hence the Seimens thermostat control, which came to a grand total of £15 off eBay. Room-based stuff is predominantly old RaspberryPi 1 ModelB’s and Pi Zeros with WiFi adapters (each Pi runs Domoticz in a master / slave setup), and appropriate sensors for that room hardwired (ie: the standard dallas probes etc for Pi / Arduino from eBay). Ground floor temp / humidity / air qual / IR Motion sensors are wired direct to the main Pi via 1Wire protocol. Lights & sockets are mainly Lightwave RF. Have a few WiFi bulbs and few Bluetooth bulbs. Curtains are 48BYJ steppers, again hard-wired to the native Pi in the room. SkyQ & TVs are controlled via each one’s rest apis over the existing WiFi. Other media devices without intelligence (old Sony Home Theatre amp for instance) are controlled via IR transceivers. There are a few scripts out there to deal with presence detection via bluetooth & wifi... partnered with in-room IR motion sensors it all ends up rather accurate. Electric and Gas meters use reed switches, again over 1wire back to the main Pi, with python scripts to convert detected pulses to w/kw/units/£ as desired. A bit of custom scripting also connects my telescope / astrophotography setup so that I can control the basics of that / monitor it from indoors also. A Pi out in the shed handles switching pond pumps, filters & lighting on/off, with pH sensors in the water. I also use WiFi IP Cameras around the place to enhance motion detection as you can set the motion action on the camera to hit up a http address, so they all trigger http endpoints on the Pi that link thru to Domoticz controls, so I can get notifications via HomeKit of motion when I’m not at home. RF doorbell is also detected by the RFXTRX433E, so a press on that triggers a snapshot on the relevant IP Camera and sends that to my phone as a notification, which HomeKit then allows me to tap to enable realtime streaming of camera feeds & two-way voice comms. Most of the wired stuff could be made to be wireless these days with some Arduino Nano action, but it all works as it is so that’s all low on the priorities list. Been running / growing the system for about 7 years now I think.

I’m not...! RaspberryPi running Domoticz & Homebridge, all sensors manually added to it (via combination of IR, Wired, Bluetooth, WiFi, and older RF devices via RFXTRX433E) with everything done locally on the Pi. Homebridge-eDomoticz plugin sets the Pi up as a HomeKit server, using AppleTV to provide external remote & voice control to Apple devices regardless of whether at home or away. It’ll also bridge across to advertise it all to Alexa if desired. Has it’s own secure webserver and it’s own selection of apps available. More graft, but more flexibility to use what you want without tying to a single ecosystem / protocol, with all data staying internal. Supports pretty much all mainstream home automation protocols and devices. For the heating in particular I’m using an old Siemens RDJ10RF radio thermostat, and a custom script that replays the original room-transmitter’s on/off signals via the Pi, so the thermostat logic is all done in Domoticz’ events system (using bluetooth-LE to work out what room I’m in and switch to temp probe in that room as trigger for thermostat etc). Geofencing is handled by HomeKit app of choice (as all my mobile devices are Apple).

Depends - if all visitors have to log in, yes. You can knock up a plugin to redirect all logins to the root site (the WPO365 plugin does this for instance, if you’re integrating auth with O365 / AzureAD). If visitors don’t have to log in and content is public, not easily.

uBuntu serving via Apache (v1, or v2?), or via nGinx, or via Lightspeed...? How you configure SSL is dependant on the software used to serve the sites, as well as the OS. eg: uBuntu + Apache2: https://www.digicert.com/csr-ssl-installation/ubuntu-server-with-apache2-openssl.htm uBuntu + nGinx: https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-create-a-self-signed-ssl-certificate-for-nginx-in-ubuntu-18-04#step-2-–-configuring-nginx-to-use-ssl uBuntu + LightSpeed: https://www.itzgeek.com/how-tos/linux/how-to-configure-lets-encrypt-ssl-in-openlitespeed-web-server.html Instructions differ based on self-signed vs purchased vs Let’sEncrypt Freebie cert, webserver, and OS (for generating CSRs etc), as well as whether it’s the only site being served or whether you’re using vhosts. As well as configuring the certificate, you possibly also have to ensure that your webserver is configured to serve https over port 443 (rather than / as well as non-https over port 80), and that any security modules (iptables, uFW, mod_security etc) that may be installed are also configured to allow access to port 443.

School Production Filming - Going Online
Marci replied to speckledegg's topic in How do you do....it?
At a guess the majority don’t as the standard production / performance license that schools usually purchase prohibits filming for resale as doesn’t include synchro rights (iirc, dependant on the production, or any songs / music used in that production for the case of in-house authored productions using commercial music) -

Only way of stopping is via NoScript-esque Chrome extensions... there's nothing native to Chrome that will disallow it. Firefox and Safari have JS via Address Bar disabled by default and require it to be specifically enabled for it to work. Last I knew IE just used keyword filters on paste (ie: paste in code prefixed with javascript: and it'd remove the javascript:, but still didn't stop you adding it back again by hand afterwards or direct-typing it). Edge has active filtering in place that URI encodes javascript: uris so that they're parsed as javascript%3A therefore whatever you put in there just ends up being the topic for a search in your default engine. All that said however, you'd need to also disable Developer Tools > JS Console in every browser, alongside the ability to inspect and edit HTML via the browser, and the ability to edit Favourites & Bookmarks (ie: to create bookmarklets) to put a complete stop to being able to perform self-XSS attacks via javascript: methods. (Or disable JS _entirely_). Technically: behaviour / computer misuse. Deal with it via your AUP with relevant sanctions.

So, we're talking about TRACKPAD mode basically... originally only supported on devices with 3D Touch pre iOS12. Now supported by everything capable of running iOS12. https://www.imore.com/how-use-trackpad-mode-iphone-and-ipad https://www.cultofmac.com/557965/ios-12-brings-trackpad-mode-to-every-iphone-and-ipad/

Back in March, a member of our staff with admin rights sent me a "shortcut link" that Every generated (My Profile > Download Login Shortcut), in the format of https://www.every.education//Account/ShortcutLogin?alk=, which when clicked dropped me straight in, logged in as them, with all their access rights. That link still works to this day. With it, I can change that user's privileges and security details without any further prompting for information. On that basis alone, I won't recommend it to anyone - It's security is questionable.

I'll confirm that. This DOESN'T work on iOS10.3.3 (last version of iOS my iPhone 5 supports).

Good good... as long as they don't destroy CentOS (RHEL-downstream) in the process...!
