  1. Example PAC File | FindProxyForURL ....?
  2. I'd suggest you need a budget to allow you to legitimately license the necessary resources to do the job...
  3. Technically, that should be a decision to be made by your Data Protection Policy makers after weighing up the necessary risks... https://www.gov.uk/guidance/public-sector-use-of-the-public-cloud https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/581224/Cloud_services_software_department_advice-22.pdf
  4. Long term sciatica sufferer with spinal abscesses thrown in and RLS (side effect as result of medication for everything else!)... I have one of these at home and one at work. Pain reduced & comfort increased ever since purchase: https://www.officefurnitureonline.co.uk/office-chairs/mesh-chairs/mesh-chairs-100-150/ergo-tek-mesh-manager-chair.html Accompanied by: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Drive-Medical-CX001-Coccyx-Cushion/dp/B009DZQL7E/ref=pd_bxgy_201_img_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=B5DA2YRY4VJTED0ARFC8 (link amended - pasted wrong one)
  5. Presuming doing such doesn't break AUP of the network, Raspberry Pi + 2x wireless dongles of whatever performance you like + hostapd / dnsmasq. https://frillip.com/using-your-raspberry-pi-3-as-a-wifi-access-point-with-hostapd/

  7. See / print and hand to your SLT this post: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/general-chat/113846-using-copyrighted-music-youtube.html#post974693 (and use the forum search). This topic gets covered repeatedly with monotonous regularity, to the point that folks can't be bothered replying, hence you've had little response thus far. If you use YouTube's Music Policies and their licensed music, you have no control over the subject of the Ads which may appear on that video, which has an inherent risk of your video being accompanied by something inappropriate, and can then result in something inappropriate being displayed on your main school website or anywhere else where you embed that footage. What the school wants and what the school can legally do are usually two very different things. The most relevant part of that post is this:
  8. Have you opened & forwarded the relevant LDAP/LDAPS ports on your router so that the external cloud-hosted Moodle can reach your internally hosted LDAP Server...? Also, for security reasons you should be using LDAPS rather than LDAP.
  9. Add... @ini_set('display_errors', 0); @error_reporting(0); ...to the file throwing the errors (index.php), directly after the opening <?php Or set... display_errors = 0 error_reporting = 0 ...in PHP.ini If changes don't take effect, check that they aren't being overridden in httpd.conf or wherever your vhost is defined... this would look something like: php_value error_reporting 1 You should also check any .htaccess files in the folder tree leading to the file throwing the error to ensure that the instruction isn't being overridden at a per-folder level via the same php_value command as above. EDIT: Apols if any formatting within the code blocks is munged. The forum seems to be applying dim-witted attempts to auto BB-code link anything preceeded by an @ as a mention, even when within code blocks, as well as randomly removing line-breaks.
  10. I'd just put the blame on VMWare Fusion (never liked it personally). I use Parallels on MacOS Sierra to host my AD-bound & managed Win7 & Win10 VMs with SIMS installed, and never had any issues with permissions across user accounts (prompts you to tick a box during creation to enable the VM to be shared across all users on the device) or bridged network connection dropping. But yes, majority of the time I just fire up MS RDP and connect to our Remote Desktop Gateway and use that instead.
  11. See http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8532304/execute-root-commands-via-php and http://stackoverflow.com/questions/13404337/how-to-get-list-of-users-from-ldap-directory-using-php Should be enough for you to work it out.
  12. wheel is a group, not an account. Members of the 'wheel' group can use sudo to perform functions as root.
  13. Another cPanel / WHM user here - I've got a cronjob set up on the server that auto-creates / updates accounts for any students within a specific list of AD groups.
  14. Talk to your SENCO - what does the student's EHCP say? If the student is under a plan, then it will need amending to account for the changes in support, and this can be the basis for a funding bid to cover the cost of any specific software or systems required for that student.
  15. Presume you’ve done the basic pre-req check...? https://support.apple.com/kb/PH25681?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US (sorry!) And... have you left it 5 minutes to allow the network to come up and detect the directory servers, or tried with wired to see if any different? (just pondering if it’s a slow connect issue - since macOS Sierra, my MBPro takes an AGE to connect to WiFi, so wouldn’t be able to allow network login at boot)
  16. HDD been Filevault'd, or created the disk as APFS? (Only a local account can log on to a Mac with encrypted drive at boot).
  17. You'd laugh if you looked at the source. Has a Javascript function to check if it's not secure (i.e.: not https), and to then goSecure(). However, the goSecure() function goes thru, inspects the address, goes thru the process of checking for presence of http:// and replacing it with https://, BUT, actually just replaces it with... http:// It's a badly written upsell site run by Digital River under affiliation, not run by MS themselves. All UK staff and students are entitled to free access to Office direct from MS via Office365, which then gives them access to the downloadable versions via the O365 portal. No purchase necessary. No upsell site necessary. PS: we DON'T go thru any GfL connection - and it works fine, no popups or issues. Behaves exactly as you'd expect it to.
  18. Ah, my mistake. Comma separated doesn't work when ! precedes -s... my bad! /sbin/iptables -I FORWARD -s IP1,IP2,IP3 -p tcp --dport 389 -j ACCEPT ...should work tho to condense the first 3 rules into 1.
  19. Just use a comma separated list of IPs instead of a single IP...
  20. Something along the lines of... iptables -I INPUT -p tcp ! -s IP.add.res.s --dport 8005 -j DROP ...will only allow the specified IP Address to establish an incoming connection over the specified port. ! is relatively standard for "if what comes after me equates to false".
  21. (I'm assuming the full JD will be live at http://www.ossettacademy.co.uk/recruitment/ at some point on Monday...)
  22. I just have Adobe Media Encoder set up with watch folders, set to compress to H264 or HAP on the fly as files come in, regardless of their prior compression state.
  23. The basic brute force fudgey way: Finder > Go > Connect to Server > whack in smb:// or cifs:// format address to the share. Click OK. Enter credentials when prompted. Finder > Go > Computer - you should now see their home folder mount listed in there. Apple > System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items. Drag n' drop their folder from Finder > Go > Computer's window into the list in Users & Groups.
  24. I presume we're talking trying to open a PDF attachment from Mail. Same issue here, however, also affects regular .docx and .xlsx files etc.
  25. Hmmm. Print this: #7 & give to aforementioned HeadTeacher. In short, answer likely to be a big fat "no, as it's illegal".
