Hiya John, we use your LGfL service up here in the North West and like it a lot, but we do have a few little things that we have raised that would help. At the moment we cant use any of the SSO services as it will require us to change all our users logons to full in line with LGfL/Atomwide naming convention. I feel this could be fix in a number of ways one of which would be to do something like what Google and Microsoft do and use the users email address to make a unique username to use with SSO.

We are simple, use the SIMS admission number without the leading zeros.

We have the same issue. Apple changed some settings a long time ago and they don't like the single cell setup. We was told about a fix some time back using a new controller but when we looked into it, they had stopped support.

We noticed this issue a while back but didn't fined a good answer. What I have done for now as a stop gap is add the proxy settings to Chrome reg settings in GPO.

We use HAP+ (Home Access Plus+) for file access, Free but support is limited and a little flaky. We also use TSPlus for remote desktop access, cant fault it, works on any web browser and very cheap and best of all, it works.

We use a small cable tie on the mice and keyboards so they don't go walking, then use padlocks/thick cable ties on the lock loop to stop access to inside the PCs (cable ties are cheaper and don't have to play hunt the keys)

The only sign we have on ours (along with any other room at has a UPS) says "This room contains UPS equipment" to keep the fire officer happy. Having a sign advertising that it is a server room is making the risk higher.

We used to get this if the cable was not shielded, one way we got round this (before we changed to shielded/HDMI cables) was to put a powered VGA splitter in at the PC/Laptop end. Some PCs/Laptops give out stronger signals than others. Shielded cables are normally thicker in size, this includes the patch from the laptop to the wall socket. My sergestion is to try the patch cable straight into the projector, this will rule out the projector. Then you have a chose of, replace cable with a shielded cable or install a powered splitter to act as a booster.

We are with LGfL, no we haven't raised a ticket as non of the teaching staff have complaind yet.

We are having the same issue here. I have found that if you right click on the link then select open in new tab / open in new window it works.

We used to give every teaching staff laptops, but stoped this back in 2009 when we put a teaching PC (connected to the projector), we have then got small staff areas around the site with PCs in. From the laptops we got back we then looked at them all, gave the departments a small number back for them to share between themselfs for home use.

We used to (site is now being redone) have two main logos in the footer then a Awards page with all the logos, little text about what they are for and links to the bodys. Think the new site is going to have a rotating banner of the logos that will be hyper linked to the bodys pages.

WOW, I used to look after a big cadet unit with way less kit than that! As for me, I have a meda server (Plex), Small Gig switch, email server, a few APs (two in doors and two out doors), laptop and a media PC and a few RiPi for streaming audio and video around the house.

I have one, but I am running it in router mode. Not had any issues with it. No performance issues and it is very stable.

Little off topic, but this is one thing that is stopping us going "Cloud" for a lot of things. Our backup line is only a ADSL line with 4Mbps Down and 0.5Mbps up on a good dry day.

Putting the car into gear dosn't stop the car from moving just makes it harder (Think of how you bump start a car), but leaving it in gear dose help. Somthing else you can do is tern the weals to face the kerb. So if it dose roll it will roll into the kerb.
