  1. Looking at this blined and it is only a stab in the dark, but in MS PowerPoint, under the "Slide Show" tab, is the resolution set to "Use Current Resolution". We had a similer issue with some Active Boards.
  2. Yr 7 Get there logons in there fist ICT lesson, Mid year students normaly get pointed in our direction tho if they have IT they will tell them. We use there admision number from SIMS as there logon and ther DoB for there password.
  3. Still blowing bad hear in the Wirral, rain has essed off a little. number of power cuts and brown outs. Some roads are blocked due to trees no longer wanting to stand up! We have cabling on the School roof that has broken free and now flapping down the side of the building.
  4. If you take the light fitting off the wall, is there a Gray, Brown, Black, and Earth (Yellow and Green) cable? If so the Brown is Live (Unswitched) witch it is conected to now, Black is switched Live and gray is Nautal. I used to wire them like this so you could override the PIR, looks like thats what they was going to do but didnt take the time to re-wire the light PIR. What I am trying to get to is you can eather take the light off and cable to the Gray (Nutral) and Black (Live) or re-wire the light switch side > The cable that has the Brown, Black, Gray and Earth, swrop over the black and brown (You will end up with two Brown and two Black in top and two Brown in the bottom) I would recomend getting someone in tho.
  5. We have a core switch in each main building (3 in total) theys are linked by 10Gb fibre. Servers, storage are at 10Gb to core siwtches. All other switches are linked back to the core switchs via 1Gb fibre or copper.
  6. Ferrite bead memory?
  7. We came across this issue in the summer with updating out teacher PCs. We found if the USB cable was under 3m it was ok, anything over 3m we needed to use an active USB cable.
  8. We have All Teaching Staff, All Support Staff, then each year group. Only SLT, Pupil Services (Admin) and our selfs can send to the staff groups and all staff can send to year groups. One things bug me off all the time, is they send emails to both staff groups all the time when it only affects one group.
  9. I setup a VM installed Ubuntu 16 LTS server with one nic, then followed this howto. It was very easy and workes very well.
  10. Fitted correctly I love them. If the beam angle and intensity are set for the type of road they are on and they work perfectly. But too many times I have seen them fitted in a rush and not set up correctly (Or using poor quality parts that fail quickly), giving too much spill light or not working at all. But on the hole I like them.
  11. Yes, what me and my colleague call our selfs, that and mushrooms.

  17. If you would like to re-run the cables to Cat5e, you can have a IP65 rated box half way, then run this Switch half way, powered by a POE switch or a midspan.

  23. We use SIMS and Trust-e Extractor, but have needed to do it by hand once. The data needs to be in a Plan Text Format with Tab delimited. There is some basic info on the Import page of "Trust-e School Catering Management" > "System Setup" > "Import/Export Data".
