  1. Same here - no problems at all.
  2. I've looked at Printopia, which is cheap and works fine over the wireless. Worth a look? Printopia - AirPrint to Any Printer - Print from iPad - Print from iPhone - Ecamm Network You'll need a Mac to set the printers up on, so that they can be seen by the software, but if you have one there already then you're set.
  3. I get people asking if I feel stupid using it as a phone.. well, no, I don't, as they invented BlueTooth headsets quite some time ago...
  4. I've had several different phones over the years, and this is the best screen I've had so far. No bleeding or anything like that, and very clear.
  5. Update time! Just got ICS with the sNote packages over the air on O2. Looks pretty good - still TouchWiz though. Be aware that it wipes any screen setups you have though, and just puts the default home screen(s) in instead.
  6. Be aware that there are "issues" with proxies on iOS. It's been a problem for several iOS revisions now, and still is not working properly. WE use BLOXX here, and the capabilities and support are superb. I'm sure Smoothwall users will say the same though - in the end it's down to personal preference I think.
  7. To be honest, at a bare minimum I'd settle for the volume licensing arrangement they have in the states. Yes, managing the iPads would still be a pain, but at least it would be easy to stay within licensing agreements. Not sure about the 10 device per account limit - I have significantly more than that on the main school iTunes acccount here. Everything you say seems reasonable though - if Apple really want this to work in UK schools, somthing has to be done about the mess that it currently is.
  8. Another vote here for Printopia - it does seem to work quite well. Nothing special required, and dirt cheap!
  9. Give them to art to make some techy scupltures?
  10. If you want web entry for registrations etc, look at SIMS Learning Gateway. Then wish you hadn't bothered.
  11. Out of curiosity, what is your "very very good reason"?
  12. Yep - we're using Wyse Xentihs for it, at about £220 a throw, so saving around £180. However, the mutlimedia experience is delivered by the terminal, so I'd be interested to see how the Pi compared to this.
  13. It's a virtual desktop from a Xen Farm.
  14. We have about 150 Apples spread across the main site, pre-prep and prep (two different sites again). We have a dedicated Apple chap here.
  15. Oh please - "her" not "here". EduGeek - spelling matters!
  16. Indeed.. however, there seem to be some major potential issues there (according to the details on the links), and I guess warranty becomes a problem if it's rooted as well?
  17. No. (Prepared to be proved wrong). This comes up constantly with our SMT here, and I have to keep reminding them that iPads, Android tablets etc are Personal Mobile Devices, and do not have the facility for multiple distinct user accounts. Mostly, they just don't get it.
  18. I find it incomprehensible that anybody would fall for this.. and I also worry that the person sending them thinks they are even remotely genuine looking..
  19. I guess the answer is "Any good for what?".. We've got a couple in the library that they use on the central desk to run Heritage and barcode scanners etc. Seem reliable enough, if not particularly quick. We've also got three science labs with them in.. same again - reliable but not quick. If you want something for Office and general tasks, they are ok (our accounts assistant lady uses one for example). If you want Photoshop - forget it!
  20. Apple TV with mirroring.. Projector would need HDMI for best results, but you can cable around this with the correct adaptors.
  21. Not at the moment, but I'm looking at it.. we are pretty much done with a beta test now, and are looking at moving forward with either student owned devices, or multiple trolleys..
  22. Not in London, but close and I've used Clive for many years from two seperate places I've worked. We currently use him for fibre installs. Johnson Maintence Highly recommended.
  23. Kyle - I've got 70 at present..
  24. Got one.. (and an S2 for personal phone). Love the Note for ease of mailing and surfing. Actually do use the pen as well - great for annotating. Don't find the size at all restrictive to be honest.
