We've had a Bloxx here for about 3 years now.. no issues, and much more configurable than the LGfL effort we had before. No more waiting for change requests etc, and no limits on the rules/exceptions we wanted, as it's obviously all done locally. Price wise, not as much in it as you'd think probably, but the usability more than makes up for it.

Yuck.. but.. we know where the tail is don't we children? Daddy is trying to hide it in his tummy...

.. also no backup strategy and no recourse when it goes pear-shaped. I've split it out here, with on-premise Exchange 2010 for staff, and Live@Edu for students. Best of both worlds!

We used the info here: How to set the msExchQueryBaseDN attribute for users via powershell - Dgoldman's WebLog - Site Home - MSDN Blogs to creatre a script to run against the affected OU's (we have Live@Edu for students, so this only affected the staff mail which is still onsite).

We had a similar problem and found that the problem was as follows: When the accounts were migrated there was an attribute called “msExchQueryBaseDN” which is used for querying the Global Address Book. This value was set to a stale object which no longer exists in AD/Exchange.

I believe they also masquerade as the NetApp Renewal Centre.. I was contacted by them a few months back, and the salesman was very pushy. He didn't get anywhere with me though. Definately avoid.

Thread resurrection! I'm trying to find about 100 keyed alike ones - Hills don't have any in stock, and I need them quite soon... anybody know anywhere they might be available?

It's a lot faster here.. but that might just be because term ended last Friday, and there are only half a dozen people in school at the moment using the 'net.. !

Is anyone having issues? - a large proportion of sites are not resolving properly, if at all for us at the moment, and one of these is the Synetrix website, so I can't even see if they are reporting problems! Luckily, EduGeek is working for me.. just!

Got one to "play" with last week.. downloaded the Citrix Receiver and a Remote Desktop app. Now I can fire up a standard school desktop over the wireless with XenDesktop and also administer servers on the move around the school. The Xen is good, and proves the concept (we can put a desktop on most things now, that is fully locked down and highly available), I suppose the Remote Desktop is nothing I couldn't do before - BUT the form factor is much easier to use. However, I can't see how you could stop them being stolen, even here where we have almost zero problems along those lines. I can see some of the kids using these when the wireless is opened up next term, along with the usual laptop devices, so it's handy to try it all out first.

Assuming this is part of a bigger disk - Partition Magic Server Alternative - Resize & Move Server Partitions without Data Loss. This is what I use.

What he said.. BGInfo works well, and is easy to implement. Wallpapers can be changed at will, and always show up.

Our entire Citrix farm (18 servers) is virtualised. They are all spec'd as dual core 3Ghz with 4Gb RAM and we get about 30 users per box. That's app delivery only, no desktops yet. It's all sat on 2003 at the moment. Not pure TS I know, but probably close enough for comparison?

We rolled out 45 of those across the Physics and Biology Labs a few months back. They were they Revo 3610's. No complaints yet, and sit nicely behind the TFT, so out of the way for experiments etc. Mind you, we'll be using these as VDI clients after the Summer break, along with a further 100 devices of some description....

BLOXX are reporting similar issues on their web filtering appliance, and a fix soon.

I use only one or two suppliers, and generally just one for box-shifting items. I use them because I get on well with them, and I find having the whole budget in one place means I don't have to keep fighting for best prices. Obviously, from time to time, I do price checks, but if most of the items are in the region, I'll stay with the supplier. If that supplier does the right thing when there are problems, and does his best for me, we're all good. Any shirking of responsibility or trying to take me for a ride, and I'll find someone else. Easier for all involved - at least from my point of view anyway! Currently, we love WStore.
