Added you iDave. Not sure if you get a friend request. Reached level 20 last night and did a few pub events. Have to say I love the legendary sword! Can do the drill pub event solo I found out with the roster being empty 90% of the time. Now the grind to get the power up and to finish the story. Manage to defeat that big character (can't remember name) at LVL 16-17. That was a tough battle with lower weapons but brilliant fun as it was hard.

Last time played i kept spawning in 30 seconds later i got the badger (or whatever code) code and it respawned me back in again at the start. After this happening 15-20 times i turned it off and went to bed, was close to next level so had to keep going.

Will add you when next on. Think im on the 4th planet, maybe 5th with the story. Yeah, getting distracted is the best bit. Have you done the Farm easter egg yet? The first time i did it, it was uncommon so everyone crowded, so common now though. Had three in one session.

Had a 2008 R2 with 2016 FS in my last place, that was rock solid. I use de-dup for backups but never in the server. If you have roaming profiles with folder redirection, check out my thread on the 2016 server forum regarding profiles. Just moved server and had a issue as i turned the old server off.

Thanks all, For some reason the gpupdate didnt seem to fix it. Reading about the issue now theres alot of horror stories where the old file server has been destroyed and people having to create new server with the old name just to get the new server to work or running login scripts to change registry settings etc. Think i would just untick the move files from the redirection setting, if youve restored from backup you dont need to move from the old server. Now i know this happens, i should have done it.

Thanks 3s-gtech. Found the answer after alot of searching. When changing the Folder Redirection, if you have the check box marked that tell it it to move documents to new location then the old server must be accessible. If you dont have the old FS available it will try accessing the old FS and fail and wont update the users documents to the new location. Re-shared the old file server folder and it all moves accross and then updates the location.

Hi All, Just turned off the old file server and its caused us a few issues with folder redirection. The event log is reporting that it has redirected folders to the new fileserver when i login but the user is getting the error that Documents cant be found and its trying to point to the old file server. Any ideas? Checked permissions for their home drives. Looks like new users work ok, its just not updating the location for documents for old users.

Anyone got Destiny 2 on the Xbox ONE? Started the game last night, pretty much Destiny 1 but still love it. Football pitch in the Farm is a bit of fun, played a really good game the other day but lost connection when the score was 2/2. PITA!! Currently level 5 but a long weekend ahead will sort that. If any other newbies want to team up then im game. Completed the radio amplifier activity, and destroyed the signal blockers.

Looking at the location of the documents it is still referencing to the old server. Will try looking in that file.

Installed a new file server during the summer hols. Have updated the folder redirection paths but it seems like it isnt updating the machines when people login. The only fix ive found is to delete the local profile. Any ideas why this is happening? Thanks

Have a issue with a few machines. Every so often a teacher logs in to their own laptop and the desktop files are transparent with crosses. Desktop etc is redirected. Restart doesnt fix, delprof 2 sometimes does the job. Edge refuses to load any website. SIMS also has a generic error when logging in, SIMS drive is accessible but they just cant login. Its almost like the network lost connection and only partially reconnected. Ive tried to replicate the issue on the same laptop, logged in, put it to sleep, pulled the battery out (Teacher often leaves it to go flat after multiple talks), airplane mode. Cant replicate on my staff test account. Been through logs and cant find anything giving a error why. Windows 10 errors seem pants compared to win 7's, used to always get the answer from the event logs but win 10 has always been useless. Anyone experienced this?

Cheers, Had a reply back from Microsoft as well and was pretty helpful, i still dont like the idea of another password for our younger students to remember, some only just manage the pc one. Why cant they just make a internal system connected to DC. Have created account in office365 for them, fairly painless now actually compared to when i last tried doing this. Bulk add and also bulk hide from global address book now included in the online exchange. From Microsoft "All students must have an Office 365 education account. This does not mean that all students have to be able to utilize Exchange, SharePoint, etc.. Office 365 can also be restricted by admins to allow only what you want your students to have access to. Office 365 doesn’t have to be an all or nothing service, you can pick and choose what you want to give to your students. Whether that is just an account (that looks like an email address), Office Online, and a Minecraft license, you can do that."

Trying to get Minecraft Education for the ICT room, my question is, how on earth do you install for shared computers. Has anyone installed this? Where do you get the install, how do you deploy? Where do you create students? Theres a free trial for 10 students, how do you get this? Any ideas? It looks like its another case of companies not understanding how schools work.

No point doing any farming on your own as you will get robbed every time. Sound brilliant, shame about the salty admin. If they are chasing someone for that long surely they know its not going to end well as you could have walked ccross the map to setup a trap. As long as you follow the rules of engagemet there should be no bans. I think some people just cant handle loosing their stuff. You have to be prepared to loose stuff. I want to have a go at one of the newer whitelisted servers. The one that there are no shops and all player run, Maldon life? They seem to have much more sense.

Anyone tried Altis Life out? Definitely a game to play after a few drinks. Logged on for a bit over the weekend and just standing in Kavala is insane, wetting myself as the police was trying to search a ifrit. A few minutes later ii was bus trying to explain that i wasnt lock picking a car and was just smelling the exhaust gasses as im from the city and wasnt used the fresh air. tis a good laugh.

I use MDT with a pause task in https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/mniehaus/2009/06/26/mdt-2010-new-feature-3-suspend-and-resume-a-lite-touch-task-sequence/ This enables me to install the OS with MDT, pause to install any programs/settings im not deploying through GPO and then continue. I did also have to create a manual image, install win 10 and put into audit mode and install programs, then sysprep. This was only because i had 2 weeks to do the entire network and didnt have time to figure out shy some machines didnt like the MDT image.

Does this mean on the host you can load up the drive and see normal files or has it created a VHD on that volume? Just trying to work how that would be recovered in the evernt of a complete failure. You must be able to restore individual files but what about the entire volume?

Have 2 1/2 weeks to decide if i should install my file server on the physical machine or inside a hyper-v. Pros of virtual is i can have Replication setup to copy to another hyperv server. Up until my last network rebuild ive always gone for the file server to be straight on the physical box, this time i chose to go virtual which is ok but sometimes its a bit slow (could be hardware) I now have a nice server free with 12xSAS drives and deciding which route to go down. The hyper v role will be installed no matter what as i want to use it as a good replication server for other machines, but not sure yet whether to have the files on the host or inside a VM. Im also moving the SIMS server to this for faster access. I know you shouldnt have multiple roles on a machines but are the file server roles and hyper v known for any conflicts? My main priorities are: Speed, reliability, ease of backup. Not sure why but ive always been a bit on the side of physical but i think thats because all my previous schools just had raid 1 so if the hardware goes i can just rip out the drive and stick it in another machine and access the data, cant really do that with raid 6. How do you do yours?

Is the WDS the same as the DC or file server. I had the same issue, all virtual on one server at the time until i got the other servers installed(2 weeks to reinstall the entire network so no time, removing VDIs). I had the same issue, even installing 1 killed everything, its like it has a higher priority on data access. Moved the virtual using the failover method (Love this) and installed 6 laptops together yesterday and everything was fine. I always have these backups :RAID (Not really a backup but at least one spare HDD in the RAID) :Internal drive for nightly backups that are quick to recover from. :SAN or NAS as far away from the server location wise but still in the school grounds for weekly backups. Use use SAN which is encrypted by the machine. :Offsite backup for when things really go wrong, normally done monthly and driven to a safe in another location - Bitlocker on this one :Second HyperV server with replication so if one server goes pop i can boot the other up. :Two drives that get taken out of our our cool hidden safe in turn once every 3-6 months - Bitlocker on these too. When we had multiple sites i had a small small SAN on each and we copied data weekly to each other. With a slow up link you woud want to perform more regular incremental backups so its not having to transfer days worth of stuff.

Had remote app setup in my old school for a few things. First logon was slower, about 10 secs but i left folder redirection etc on. My profiles wernt mandatory however so it was all store on the remoteapp machine. After this first logon for the day i had it setup so it wouldnt log them out and only disconnect so it would be pretty much instant the next time they opened something. You need the memory to do this though. Unfortunatly if our logon times are slow then the first time the user opens an app its going to be slow, you can see by clicking show more the server logging in.

Cheapest weve been quoted is £829 monthly for a 30mb down connection. We are in the middle of nowhere so completely crazy prices leaving the LEA. Got a old machine so will have a play with a few later.

Has anyone got a internal free filter working behind the LEA firewall? In the past I've tried but importing the LEA certificates and getting https to work was always a issue. Any recommendations? I've tried getting prices for lease line etc but the cost is almost double what we pay now. Thanks
