  1. Lover of Single Player Games here, because I am rubbish at multiplayer. I have a love of a good story and if you like JRPG style games (and Studio Ghibli) I can highly recommend "Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch" This game does not hold punches with the story and emotions and there is some craziness (which you get with all JRPGs), but it is so so enjoyable, and all major cutscenes are animated by Studio Ghibli, and Mr Drippy, King o' the fairies is just a quality character
  2. Considering our Timetabler also sits on the Leadership Team, was fully included in the process, checked out both the scheduling and looked over the allocation side. Please do not make assumptions, we value your opinion on this, but as every school is different, as you may know as a consultant, their processes and involvement will be different.
  3. Ah, but this thread it about the timetabling software alone, not the cost of the whole MIS. And yes people have moved away from the SIMS/Nova model, but in most cases this is not solely down to price, and here at my school, it was a whole leadership decision to move away from SIMS and all of the on costs of running an onsite server and having Microsoft SQL Licenses and CALs etc. I would like to point out, that although it have been a few years now since I scheduled my last timetable, I can actually see that Timetabler does require more effort on the "Planning" Stage but this makes the scheduling part a lot easier and less stressful for our current timetabler.
  4. Mod Hat on here - @DonMcGillivray We do not ask members to identify where they work, for matters of privacy, What I saw here was someone who did have a positive experience, and while you may not have had this, others may have actually had positive experience and would like to highlight this in the discussion.
  5. All Staff devices have restrictions preventing students login and visa versa (had issues with staff taking student devices to use). My Mind also goes to, do you really want students in the staff room at all! That is a private space where things should be able to be discussed without worrying if little ears are listening. My Argument was always, even though they shouldn't be able to load them, at the time, staff machines had the SIMS client and 4Matrix clients installed and the potential of someone putting something that could capture keystrokes, or someone leaving themselves logged in you could leave yourself open to a Data Breach.
  6. I have been running @ICTDirect_Dave's servers for at least 6 years so far, never had an issue, and the service from ICT Direct is just excellent. This current batch, I just extended the warranty on them, because they have been that solid
  7. Yeah, it is like it is ignoring the SSL override to not inspect that page!
  8. I mean who would be crazy enough to have implemented SSO SAML Links on all their Google Authentication to Microsoft over the summer, oh yeah, this guy
  9. Seems to be affecting other websites too, MyConcern, Senso, DfE Secure access and a others hosted in Azure (I assume, I know senso is and the DfE secure access uses Microsoft authentication)
  10. Check your GPO settings in Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Event Log Services > Security specifically the Control Event log behaviour when the log file reaches its maximum size and the specify the maximum log file size settings
  11. Well it seems that (after 4 weeks from reported) the issue where marking as resolved didn't mark as resolved when going through one by one has actually been fixed. Still looking at splitting safeguarding to a different product and possibly using Senso for classroom management only
  12. Not noticed anything this morning TBH, and they tend to keep those messages up until they are confident it is gone, and a root cause fix applied not just a temporary fix.
  13. It is not just the person publishing that needs pro, it is all people who wish to access the Power BI reports that need to have a Pro License too.
  14. Yeah I have: Class Cloud Safeguard Cloud Web Content Filter Was there in v1, oh well, I may just make a shutdown batch file and have that run at night.
  15. Yup, I had it in v1 but v2 it is part of something that I am not licensed for
  16. It may be a licensing issue, as it is not in my menu bar either
  17. Guess what, I am organisational admin, and do not have it 😉
  18. Ok, I am being blind, I cannot see where to set Schedule Shutdown at all!
  19. I have found I have to run the Google Classroom sync manually to work, automatic overnight does not.
  20. still have issues where the ssl exceptions do not kick in, and this causes onshape to stop working for student 😞
  21. What OS's are your End Users running? Just out of interest.
  22. Interestingly 3.0.0
  23. It does feel like a beta test, I get that it's hard to rebuild an entire system like this but this added onto everything else is making this beginning of the academic year a total nightmare
  24. So after a day with my head buried in the Chrome development tools etc, I think I found the cause of not being able to past/insert images within Google Workspace apps. When switching on the verbose mode specifically on the Senso v2 extension I saw messages like this: [WebControl] Blocking background request to filesystem: https://docs.google.com/persistent/docs/documents/........ As category results are still pending so I have added (temporarily) a web exception ruleset item as below This seems to have solved that issue for now.
  25. So migrated over to Senso v2 so far and the issues I have experienced so far: Was not initially logging any web traffic at all, took a while to get that working When you resolve a violation on a log and move onto the next etc, only the first one actually marks as resolves but it marks the following a true positive just not resolved - Ticket opened for a while on this (small annoyance) you can just hit the left and right arrow keys to move through logs anymore no MacOS client! Filter Categories seem to be overly zealous and the amount of stuff blocked saying its AI etc just caused issued Currently stopping Chromebook being able to copy and paste images (or even paste screenshots) into any Google Sheets, Slides or Docs No ability (that I can see) to set a shutdown schedule task on windows machines Had to disable Network Prediction on Chromebooks and in Chrome because it would just jump to the first website on Google, and that was usually blocked as an add If you have 1080p 13" windows laptops (like our staff) with the default windows scaling the layout just goes above one and other with the group lists so that has unnecessary scrolling Google Classroom sync seems broken, help chat said "currently disabled with a bug" have to manually run the sync, as automatic sync says "no courses" There are probably more but I can't remember but wow this feels bad, like bad bad and I really am not happy with a lot of it, may have to look at moving away, because this just feels bad as right now Anyone else feel like we are just on one big beta release with this?
