Sounds like logoff loops can be caused by problems with userinit.exe. Have you tried doing a system restore...? Otherwise you could try something like this, From Experts-exchange...

I've seen recommendations here for Premiere Elements and Serif MoviePlus, and I've been planning to ditch the ghastly Movie Maker for one of those. I'll be interested in other comments on this.

I agree about this being a training issue rather than a technical issue, and I've seen staff workstations left logged onto SIMS. If the idea is to protect against students tampering with workstations left logged on by staff - well, I'd have thought they could do plenty damage already, SIMS or no, and logging out or locking unattanded computers is the way to go. Still...if they insist on an extra security check before running certain programs, it would probably be easier to implement a single universal password than re-authentication, maybe through password-protected folders. I think the DHT is misguided. If we had single log-on here, they'd be delighted. Surely the whole idea is to reduce the need for staff to keep logging into different systems; or if not it sounds like it would be simpler to keep things as they are. Perhaps you could discuss their concerns about it? Otherwise, maybe you could look at a general-purpose utility to password protect programs like this one: Program Protector 3.2 - Program Protector is unique, state of art security utility that allows you to... Another possibility might be to password-protect the folder containing the application shortcuts.

What version of Virtualbox are you using...? Sounds like some people have got round similar issues by downgrading from 2.2.2 to 2.2.0 or running Repair. Sounds like it may either be Exchange 2003's attachment security features... This seems to be the way to change the background: "Go to: Start/Settings/Control Panel/Display/Appearance/ and click "Advanced" and then under "Item" select "Window" and change to whichever colour you prefer.
