  5. Hi Guys, I use the following script and yes I found it on the web somewhere so I cant take full credit for this! Copy Code 1 to your logon.bat located in SYSVOL Copy Code 2 to notepad, Save as ".vbs" in SYSVOL Copy your pre-made .prf into SYSVOL The following script will look for the users directory to see if they already have an Outlook folder in Application Data, if not then the script will proceed with importing the .prf In you logon.bat file you'll need to add the following: CODE 1 cscript \\SERVER\netlogon\Outlook2007.vbs Now copy this to notepad and save as .VBS CODE 2 Dim objNetwork, strUserName, WshShell, strDirectory, objFSO Dim objShell Dim Version ' Create Outlook object and Shell object set objShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell") 'Get user's name Set objNetwork = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Network") strUserName = objNetwork.UserName 'See if the user needs Outlook configured strDirectory = "C:\Documents and Settings\" & strusername & "\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook" ' Create the various objects Set objFSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") 'Import PRF If objFSO.FolderExists(strDirectory) Then 'Wscript.Echo "Skipped the registry edits. Directory exists Else 'Wscript.Echo "Start performing registry edits. Directory does not exist On Error Resume Next Err.Clear Set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell") WshShell.RegDelete "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Setup\First-Run" WshShell.RegDelete "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Setup\FirstRun" WshShell.RegWrite "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Setup\ImportPRF","\\SERVER\netlogon\Outlook.PRF","REG_SZ" 'Wscript.Echo "Finished modifying registry End If
  6. Hello Matt, Unfortunately there's not much on here about EasySync, I'm currently evaluating the product using some test accounts. What cant you get working? The only issue I had was connecting to Live@Edu Servers via ps.outlook.com - My solution for this was CMD prompt > netsh winhttp reset > netsh winhttp import proxy source=ie Depending on wether or not you want to use your IE proxy settings. Apart from that it seems to work and Sync passwords to the Edu service, Few glitches with Dynamic Distribution groups not appearing in the Admin side of Live. Hope this helps, Regards Matt Gibson
  7. Yes you've guessed! I could resist getting the new iPhone 4S, Now that I've got it I want to use it in school and also make Siri work through the schools proxy server. Does anyone know what the Apple server addresses are so I can added them to the school whitelist? For work purposes of course..... Regards Matt
  8. Hi Guys, I've had a reply from SMART after a few lengthy conversations here's the reply i've been sent. I've note had time to try as of yet but feel free to let me know your results.

  10. Has anyone else noticed a problem with creating a Smart Notebook 10.7 package on CC4? Our problem is that no Gallery Content is getting installed onto the machine but the notebook program installs fine. My content is stored on our Public drive where everyone has access. In the in Smart Install Manager I have configured “Install the Gallery to each computer.” using a UNC path to the share. I’ve compared the new .mst with the old and there is no difference between the two files. I can deploy the older package and that installs with the Gallery (connecting to the same share). I know that the .MST is working because all other configurable settings are getting applied. Now when I logon as an admin using the command prompt: "C:\Smart\SMART Notebook.msi" Transforms=Notebook.mst /q This works fine and installed the Gallery Content. This to me indicates that it’s a permission problem. Despite giving Everyone – Read Access. I’ve basically done exactly what I did last time to create the 10.6 package but I’m having no joy with the new. I feel that it would be an RM problem but have no logs/errors to prove this, if anyone else can show any light on this subject it would be much appreciated, or even if you could try making a new package for 10.7 and let me know your results? Regards Matt Gibson The Process 1. Tried updating file set of existing package in RMMC (CC4) 2. Downloaded new packages and created .MST using the Smart Install Manager. 3. Created an .ini file for import into RMMC [Package] WIPackage=SMART Notebook.msi WITransform=Notebook.mst Description=SMART Notebook Software 107 OS=5.WS,6.WS
  11. Hi Everyone, I've managed to setup IAS on my Windows 2003 Server and it seems that pfsense is talking to it however I am unable to login using my domain username and password. It really urgent and would be much appreciated if anyone could spare some time.
  12. Well I'm currently a Network Manager and I was wondering whether to take an opportunity like this (should one come up). By the sounds of it there's probably just as much work to do (if not more!) roles are slightly different with a more senior insight. Decisions......Decisions..... Would you guys go from a NM to Director? Thanks for your replys so far.
  13. Hi Guys, Its funny how a lot of people don't know about the UK Government Cover up in Cumbria... UK Government covered up nuclear reactor blaze which caused death and cancer | Mail Online
  14. Hi Guys, Recently I'm seeing more and more jobs opportunities for ICT Director, personally I thought this was another name for a Network Manager but it seems not. Reading on the Educational IT Jobs Forum, it seems that it's a higher role to the Network Manager and they have more involvement with LMT and Governors. Personally if I was the network manager I'd feel they would be over-seeing all of my work and taking some of my roles away from me... What are you thoughts on this new position and will all schools go this way?
  15. Does anyone know of any useful revision website that are in a mobile format? As you know most students own smart phones would be good if they could access resources on there mobile devices. Regards Matt
  16. We too just changed the version numbers on the first line if you open the file in notepad from 13 to 12. Imports without fail. Cheers Matt
  17. Hi There, Our Results would not import until I opened the file in notepad and changed the 13 to 12 on the first line, You'll see what I'm on about once opened. Then try and re-import results. Cheers Matt Gibson
  18. Hi Guys, Has anyone on a Ranger network seen these error messages and if so how the hell can you fix this? I've checked the ports on the server and they all seem to be responding, Server restart still hasn't fixed the issue. On the server everything appears to be working fine, you can send packages and see the workstations listed in the console. I've attached two screen shots this appears after logon.
  19. Hi Paul, That's great could you email it to me? I'll PM my email address over to you know. I can only assume its a working package under systemadmin I have yet to test this under Students user account. To package this I used their deployment tool to create the MSI and MST on to a server share. Then by using the Application Wizard I ran the following: P:\AutoDesk\Revit 2011\AdminImage\RevitSetup\RevitMEP>msiexec.exe /i "autodesk revit x86.msi" Transforms="autodesk revit x86-autodesk revit.mst" Make sure you got enough space on the server. I hope this help, I'll try your document this afternoon hopefully it will work for us! Regards Matt
  20. Hi there, Normally you can just go to file and click "Reset Locks" then it should all start working. Cheers Matt
  21. Hi Everyone, Does anyone have a CC4 package or even CC3 package for AutoDesk Revit 2011? I've managed to package it up the best I can and it seems to install and works fine under the administrators account however when I login as my student account it seems to moan about the ADLM could not talk to service. I'm guessing this is just a permission issue however I'm trying to find out which permission is needed? I've used process monitor to narrow down which paths are being run and which .exe are launching but still no luck. Following error message: Unable to initialize adlm Internal error message: not enough rights to talk to service Error Code: 21 Then followed by: Licensing System Error 10: Failed to start ADLM We all know i cant give all the students admin access to these machines! Why don't AutoDesk document all the paths and what's required they must understand we need to have restrictions in place..... Regards Matt Gibson
  22. Hi Mate, We've now had the joy of doing this!, So far I haven't started to build a package but would like to know how everyone else has managed to do this? Please let me know how you did this, Regards Matt Gibson
  23. Does anyone know, I'm pretty sure its to do with the Client Config Directives to make this happen but none are working for me.
  24. Hi Guys, Is it possible for OpenVPN Client to run a script after its connected. Basically I want staff to be able to connect to the network when they are at home OpenVPN seems to do everything I want it to but after its connected I want a .BAT to run so that it will map the network drives. Regards Matt
  25. Hi There, Yes, We have a trust between the two domains and they are on the same subnet and physical network.
