Just a heads up about the whole EMPSN thingummy - they're holding an event in Derby on Jan 30th. I'm keeping an eye on this myself as my sites will be affected by the whole change in services. I'll be going to the event to see if I can get some answers for myself - I'll add what I know once I know more.

Okay - while this is a good thing, after all the curriculum should evolve with the changing world (and requirements therein), IT skills will still need to be taught. Sadly, at the moment, too many times I have seen ICT being taught by effectively whichever teachers 'put their hands up', and the IT skills of some staff leave a whole lot to be desired. Due to the width of it's use - IT should really be taught across the board, but not in the way of all sitting there following the boring instructions of whichever member of staff drew the short straw and has to teach "Word". Perhaps a little Word processor use in English, or indeed any time that the students are required to write on the computer, a little spreadsheet use in Maths, etc, etc. ICT lessons, unless actually doing something 'fun' have always seen to be (and lets face it, have), been boring. To be honest, aside from the more in-depth stuff - ICT lessons should be mostly a thing of the past, with the skills required being assimilated into other subjects. Okay, doing things that way will create a large amount of unhappy staff - as many of the staff that (to their own admittance) "Aren't very good with computers" are either scared of them, confused, don't really want to learn or are a combination of all three. For IT skills to be taught universally, then ALL teaching staff will need to be at a set baseline level. (with apologies to all ICT teaching staff that are members of an ICT Teaching Department)

Erm... I'm guilty of this, just one layer of clothing, tac vest and ballistic glasses Can't remember the number of times I've spat a bb out - and yes, I do generally keep my mouth closed. And remember: when we have struck Mr. Grenade - he is not our friend. (I've seen a lad have one accidentally strike in his pocket - I have never before seen someone remove their trousers so quickly!)

I've been part of a little bit of fun we had with paintballers, we borrowed paintball kit and went against them for a couple of games (in most cases without armour).... Then we switched it around and they borrowed some gats and went against us. Guess who screamed more

To be honest - I kinda agree with the VCRA, in so far as it make it harder for oiks to get a hold of replica kit, sadly it does mean that us airsofters have to prove what we are to be able to buy gats. All too many times I see stalls selling gats though - usually with a small number of teenage lads around them attempting to look 'ard . Thing is - you know they're selling them illegally and reporting them seems to go nowhere (note: I don't want to turn this into a police bashing thread - they do a great many things that I could never do, and they're too constrained by having to meet targets to have the time to easily deal with 'small' matters like this).

I haven't been for a while - but I do have quite a sizeable armoury and am looking to get back into the firefight once time allows... Anyone else from the midlands???

I think you're allowed to keep them - but it's taken as a bit of a courtesy to try and let the company know they've sent stuff to the wrong person in case of mistakes... Do you know if they do X-Box360s???
